I thought it would be fun to compare these three very different, but similarly sized small bags.

A couple of notes about what I have and what you might want/might be available.

My Chanel square is vintage (1991-94), my lambskin Speedy Ink is LE and hard to find. I added info on easier to find equivalents where I easily could.

This is primarily a what fits, but I thought I'd add some extra info.

Vintage Chanel Mini Square (a quick search shows around $2k to $5k), the $4,700

What fits
I filled each of these bags more than I typically would. Also, I know round coin pouches are popular, but I don't have one. I'm hoping the Ice Breakers mints are about the same size.

Vintage Chanel Mini Square -Not much! I packed this twice, because I wanted to show with and without an LV Toiletry Pouch 15.
  • 1st photo shows an LV TP 15 that is pretty well stuffed, small card holder, reading glasses. I'm sure I could have tossed in come loose lip products or a mascara, but not much more.
  • 2nd photo shows an iPhone XR, reading classes, small card holder, small hand cream tube, Ice Breakers mints, and 2 Hermes Bastias (one with keys and one with ear pods)
Valextra Serie S Mini - Wow! I was surprised at how much fit! I use this on days when I only carry a few items and am happy to have everything fit comfortably. In the winter, I have a few items and leather gloves. Here's what I packed for you:
  • iPhone XR, reading classes, small card holder, small hand cream tube, Ice Breakers mints, and 2 Hermes Bastias (one with keys and one with ear pods), TP 15, and sun glasses in Valexra glasses case

LV Speedy 20 Ink - Blow me over and call me Shorty! I have never really stuffed this bag and was shocked at what could fit. Not that I would carry this much, but here it is.
  • iPhone XR, reading classes, small card holder, small hand cream tube, Ice Breakers mints, and 2 Hermes Bastias (one with keys and one with ear pods), TP 15, and sun glasses in Valexra glasses case plus small Brighton zippy pouch with lip products and a watch. (the reading glasses are not in the photo. I reflexively put them on--but they did fit. Sorry!
Weight
Come back later for weights. The battery in my scale died. I'll update this later.

My general thoughts? Each of these bags is wonderful. Obviously, the Chanel is the most classic, but it is also the least practical. I had Leather Surgeons touch up the corners, replate the gold, and add to 2 inches to drop. She fits me perfectly, and despite it being pretty impractical for my life, and too showy for my general taste, I love her and we won't part!

LV Speedy is absolutely beautiful, under the radar, the softest bag I've ever had, and fits so much! She is rare and wonderful. I also have a Speedy 20 in all vachetta and would love one in DE. So cute and very practical!

Valextra Serie S Mini - What a gem! I also have an Serie S Medium (I'll review those 2 someday). Under the radar, the smooth leather is TDF, cute, and practical. I could also slide my phone into the long front zip pocket and cards in the back divided pockets, I just didn't. I don't love the strap. It's a little thick for my preferences and a tiny bit short, but I like them long. A small price to pay for such a great bag!

This post is going to be no fun without pictures, but my pedicure is done and I don't have time to upload them. Come back later!
