Hi Ladies,

So I've set my mind that I would like to get a pair of diamond earrings this year, and it would be down to the pair of either (1) Vintage Alhambra Pave Diamonds in White Gold or (2) Small Frivole Pave Diamonds in Rose Gold with Pink Sapphire. I've even decided to pass the Lucky Alhambra BTFR that was ordered last year towards a store credit that I hope to offset the earrings purchase. As earrings are notoriously hard to come by, I am open to get them from my local store (let's say Store A) rather than waiting for overseas travel/holiday as I already have a prior relationship with my SA.

Ever since I've expressed my interest to my SA, ~ 1.5 months have passed by and unfortunately no sign from either of these earrings came to my usual store. My SA even informed me for now all Alhambra pieces aren't available for any order/deposit. This week, exactly 2 days ago I received a text that the other VCA store nearby (let's say Store B) received VA diamonds earrings both in RG and YG, and if i was interested to have a look. I did not pay any visit given they were not my first choice but I was hopeful that perhaps the stocks were coming. True enough, earlier this afternoon was texted by my SA that they received a pair of VA diamond earrings and she has set it aside for me. Unfortunately, the pair received was in YG :'( and not in WG as I wanted. Even so, I've made an appointment to pay her a visit and to give it a try as I have never seen them before.

Lurking around the TPF, I understand that some member advised to check the online store whether the web Customer Service is able to see stocks across stores and help to look out for certain pieces, especially if there are no nearby VCA stores and perhaps for customer who does not have any prior relationship with certain store before. Out of curiosity, I tried calling them to ask if there were any stocks for VA Diamonds Pave Earrings in WG in our country in the late evening. I was expecting a usual no-stock answer however, shockingly the lady on the phone mentioned that from the system she could see that there WAS a pair of VA Diamonds Pave earrings available in Store B. She mentioned that it looked like the pair might've been reserved for their customer so she's asking whether I was comfortable purchasing online instead of going to the store, and promising to give me a call if they've received the same earrings.

I texted my SA to let her know - she was so surprised as she did not see that in the system the day before, she gave me the phone number of Store B and urged me to try calling to see if the earrings’ re still available. Initially I was not so convinced but in the end (also out of curiosity), I phoned Store B and managed to speak with a lady there who informed me that the pair of earrings was still available and not reserved for any of their clients. However, what turned me off was the fact that I had to come down to Store B to commit/purchase today (on the same day) in a couple of hours and she could not hold for me till tomorrow (!!!) due to scarcity etc etc etc. I thought this might be a norm where I din have any prior relationship or purchase history with Store B. In the end, told her that I would get back with my decision in the next 30 mins, i.e. if I could come down to proceed.

I re-texted my SA to let her know of the situation and perhaps to see if there's another leeway for transfer. She however tried to call Store B and was told that there were no VA Diamonds Pave earrings in WG available. Knowing i was conflicted, she told me that she did not mind for me to purchase from Store B given that's the exact pieces I've been wanting whilst she did not have any lead time for the same item to be received in Store A. She even offered to text her colleague in Store B (the lady on the phone with me) to send me a payment link so that I could put a deposit to secure the piece for tomorrow's viewing if I wasn't able to visit Store B earlier today. As I really needed more time to think about it and I really could not visit Store B earlier today, I've phoned back Store B to give it a pass for today and leave it to the fate to tomorrow if the earrings are still available before paying a visit.

Although the situation might be different in other VCA stores around the world together with supply/demand problems, I just wanted to gauge from the ladies here who own VA pave diamonds earrings (especially in WG) if you're able to let me know how long typically you're waiting for your earrings with your SA, i.e. ~ 3 months or longer than that? And also, if typically small Frivole pave diamonds in RG with Pink Sapphire also harder to come by these days?

Just wanted to add that whilst my SA is confident that she’s able to fulfill the small Frivole diamonds in RG/PS (even with price increase, she can put an order request with deposit to secure an old price), she’s not so hopeful towards VA pave diamonds WG pair. Therefore, she urged me to just get it when she knew that the pair arrived from the other store as she also felt that likely another price adjustment would be happening soon in the coming months.

From various accounts by ladies in the US, it seems that the SAs are not inclined to reserve items and are pushing customers to buy items, especially if they know that it is a desirable one. Sometimes, SAs even lie and say that the item is not available and there’s no way for SAs from other stores to verify. The only way to reserve the item in store is to pay for them. If you really want the item, you might have to pay for them. However, I’ve seen the WG VA pave earrings online from time to time (at least 3 times in the past year) so you can order them from the website if you don’t want to pay the deposit. Online purchases can be returned without quibble. Don’t feel pressured into buying something because of the sales tactic. Buy what you love and enjoy. Hope this helps.
 
I have purchased mine via customer service last week.

I do work with my SA in NY who is fantastic and I have a wonderful relationship with but similarly to your situation they weren’t available.
So I proceeded with calling directly to the customer service online, and was promised a follow up phone call once they are able to locate the earrings for me ( they also stated they currently don’t do a deposit).

A week later I received a phone call that they were able to locate the earrings at Las Vegas boutique and connected me directly with the them. Needless to say I was thrilled and happily charged my card.


I must say the customer service was simply outstanding, on many levels!!!

You should give it a try if you really want the earrings before their next price increase which I am sure will happen sooner than later…
Now I am in serious trouble since I saw the white gold alternating onyx pave bracelet yesterday in NY with my SA …
can’t get it out of my head , so gorgeous .

Thank you - i am based in Asia (not in the US) where the access to VCA stores are not too far away from each other. However, was told that they are no longer able to transfer items as each store is very competitive with their sales. The Store A i am frequenting is a flagship store where a lot of movement is expected whilst the other stores (esp Store B) are not. Store B movement is slower given not so many walk-ins and they are mostly customer-based orders. Though my SA is wonderful to work with, to be honest while hearing this - i thought i've chosen the store wrongly from the beginning :eek:…. I only visited Store B 2x as of this year however, i could see during my visit that they did have some hard-to-come-by items for display, including rare Alhambra pieces for e.g. 6 motifs Magic Carnellian/TE necklace, MOP earrings 3 or 4 motifs etc…

I see, maybe best bet would be once they locate the earrings just buy them without trying as it sounds they certainly will not hold it for you .

Yes, definitely I will be getting things that i love. There were no pressure for me to get the YG VA earrings from the Store A with my SA as she's just informed me about the closest that she could get/allocated with my wishlist and as this has been set aside for me, she would also love me to try (I've never tried any VA diamond earrings before). I've only tried to see from the RG/GMOP or VA pave pendant to visualise how the pave earrings are gonna be on me.

Just that unexpectedly the said WG VA earrings were available in the other Store (Store B) as of yesterday and as my SA said she did not have any lead time for this pair to be received in our usual store + upcoming price increase, she urged me to get from Store B instead rather than waiting longer. I was just conflicted to get it now vs. await for a bit more, and hence checking with the ladies here to see how long they are usually waiting for their earrings to see if they are indeed super difficult to come by in other parts of the world (??) Sometimes, like you I also don't buy 100% what these SAs have been saying too.

I guess I will try to call Store B again to see if the earrings are still available and update you guys in this thread.

Dear Ladies,

Good news! It all worked out to the best outcome in the end - the earrings received by store B were still available in the morning , I managed to get them (!!!) and the sale was recorded under my SA's [though under Store B] :yahoo: :yahoo::yahoo:

When I got texted by my SA to go to Store B, she let me try and choose among the RG, YG and WG and definitely WG was the winner. I am determined for the RG pave should be from the Small Frivole with Pink Sapphire - I need my $$$ tree to grow again as I've cross-checked all of my wishlists this year :biggrin:
