Dear Ladies & Experts,

DH and I are headed to USA (SF-Miami-NYC) end April for vacation. DH has been really sweet and incredible, doing all the planning for our trip including mapping out all the H stores because he understands my love for H and my desire for my Birkins & Kellys!

Some of these H stores on our to-visit list are: SF, Miami, NYC, Manhasset, Greenwich, Bergen New Jersey.

I have 2 queries that I would be very grateful for your advice on:

1. Do you have any advice (SA recommendations, particular store habits) for the abovementioned stores?

2. Will carrying a Birkin improve my chances of scoring Birkins/Kellys in the abovementioned stores? I am hesitant about bringing my 40cm togo Birkin on the trip as a hands-free, lighter bag is probably more practical. It is not an option for me to bring my tadeklat Kelly or swift Lindy as I tend to baby those types of leathers.

Many thanks in advance!

I LOVE Tamisha at the New York (Madison Avenue) store - she's very nice, very helpful....

If you're really looking for another Birkin/Kelly you might also want to take a look at the Palm Beach store - I think it's about 90 miles from the Bal Harbor store and they had a good selection when I was there - my sense is that it's a large tourist destination and so they keep the store well stocked. When I was there, a woman with a very pronounced accent (who said that she was traveling in the states) was looking at a sellier kelly (from the back) and she had a retourne out as well. Definitely not a store regular, and they seemed to accommodate her request.

I'm not sure that carrying a birkin in and of itself will help in your quest....

Good luck!

having some Hermes item on you never hurts as it shows your appreciation for the brand, but it is never a guarantee. NYC and SF have brikins on the shelf for sale from time to time. Good luck!

Luis Carlos Olarte helped me locate a piece. He's in Bal Harbor shops. I wore my Jypsiere and that caught his attention. :smile1: He was a great help and quite dashing.

I agree. She's a sweetheart. I was in NYC for Easter and she helped me out. I've continued communicating with her via text message for other items she's getting for me. Good luck!

Egad, I can't imagine schlepping around a 40 on a trip like that! Way too big & heavy - I say leave it at home...

As for increasing your chances of getting a Birkin or Kelly -- as you know, nothing helps more than buying some other H items. Especially now, in what is definitely a time of diminished inventories compared to the last couple of years. If you're buying other items, they won't care what bag you're carrying.
And in the event you get lucky and find something you like sitting on a shelf, well then it won't make any difference what you're carrying either!

Hence my vote to leave the 40 at home...

Good luck & have a great time!!

I don't really think that carrying a birkin to visit any H store will help you score more birkins/kellys. It's a matter of being there at the right place at the right time, and a nice SA that'll provide his/her assistance regardless of what you have on. If you express your interest in their products and/or wear an H scarf or accessory item, I'm sure you'll be just fine.
