Hi,
i have saved and saved - only buying an LV Alma & Speedie along the way.

i finally have a nice nest egg to spend on myself.

i have about US$10,000- to play with.

i have a serious dilema - WHAT DO I GET?

i have narrowed the choices down to 3 items. what do you think is best? i would appreciate all advice.

1> South Sea Strand of Black South Sea/Thatian pearls
2> Rolex Two Tone DateJust - with roman numerals
3> Hermes Kelly bag - orange or blue

i do not need to spend exactly $10,000- however i want a significant purchase. something i can wear with pride and say i bought it myself.

so of you girls have much more experience than me - so i look to you sisters for loving advice.

I'd put the money into a savings account or other investment account and put the interest aside for purchases. That way you keep your $10K and still get to purchase your dream items!

Hi I had a suggestion for you to maybe make your money go further. I am not sure if you have heard of the home consignment centre but all the shops have fine jewellery. I got a Rolex there (they got them from a jeweller that authenticates reconditions and provides a 2 year warranty) it was almost the exact watch you described but it had diamond numbers and mother of pearl face and was about $3,000. And I have seen amazing Tahitian pearls in there for just a couple of thousand. I live in So. Cal. and I know the stores around here get both brand new items from vendors and stores as well as a lot of cool stuff from private collections. The best is the price you pay at the consignment is usually about half of what you pay in retail stores, I have seen $15,000 Tiffany Earrings for around $6,000.

I'd say the Rolex, they don't depreciate, and keep their values worth in case for what ever reason you need some extra cash fast but I would love a Kelly bag! But realistic speaking I would go for the Rolex!
