UPDATED w/pics CC stamp on a 2012 bag?

Hi all, I found a bag online that is from 2012 and the CC has a stamp on it like the 24k vintage bags, but I know channel stop using 24k gold in 2008-2009. What does this stamp mean?

How are you sure it's from 2012? It has the Flat CC and hallmark that Chanel stopped doing in 2009.

The serial number starts with 16xxx and that correlates to 2012 I’m pretty sure?

Is it possible that the hardware was replaced? I know that some leather spas will do this as some people prefer the older hardware.

There was no mention of refurbishment in the description… So is the general consensus that the stamp does likely indicate 24k gold plating? I’ll get the bag next week so I can update then how it looks and feels!

Could be a 1 series and not a 16.

Uh oh…. I just did some research and it seems there are supposed to be 8 digits in this serial codes?!?

We can’t comment on authenticity, but it is a vintage 1 series, not a 16 series, so the hardware and 7 digits are as expected.

Doh, that makes sense! I called fashionphile to ask and they agreed the date was wrong on the website. Thank you SO much, I love this bag and I guess I am still in disbelief that it’s Series 1 because it’s in such good shape! The previous one I ordered was from 1990 and I had to send it back bc the chain was all twisted, and it was def worse for wear. Looks like I got a good deal
