I posted my pics on the engagement ring thread but did not have much feedback....(swanky where did you go???).....:wondering
I am upgrading my 1.19 princess with .4 trillions to a 1.55 round brilliant with the .4 trillions and having each of them haloed--I have searched everywhere for a pic of this scenerio and cannot find--any oppinions on what this will look like--the good and THE BAD....I am prepared for any criticism or approval--whatcha think???

sorry, I usually only peek in there once/week or so :s
Better to start a new thread like this anyhow w/ questions since that's a photo thread :D

Did they give you a mock up or anything to approve? Will you get to approve it before truly committing to it?
Finally, is it all halo'd together, or does each stone have it's own?

i think a halo on a 3 stone will be a bit much.. i think you should just halo the center and make earrings with the trillions!

I agree -- and trillion studs would be fun! Also, if you haven't already, you might want to check Pricescope for some ideas and post for opinions over there. Also, if you're going to a round brilliant -- would about half-moon or pear sides (like the pp mentioned)?? I just think of trillions as being used for either princess or step-cut stones.

i found something.. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/jwl/756982058.html

i think this is what you want.. if yes i think it would look GREAT.. sides are rounds but just pretend they have little pear tails!
Thank you all for your time and replies:yes:
Yes it is very similar to this look!! however the halo will be very small--a micro pave.
swanky--the setting the jeweler sent with the stones for the example is a round micro pave halo with a micro pave split shank--the split in the shank will be widened and the trillions fit in to the split--does this make sense??My mom has been using this family jeweler for almost 20 years so if I don't like it he will fix it until I do like it--we could have had a wax of it but for me I just can't get a feel for what it will "really" look like from this.
I have spent hours on pricescope and in general looking for examples and the closest I can come is the one similar to what sinniebunnie posted.
I did have him set the round into the center of my old setting so it was flush with the trillions and the look was just to "hard" looking--when we dropped into the halo it "softened" the look--and as for the trillions--I just feel it adds more bling--and I personally love bling.:graucho:

your descript makes sense to me now, especially w/ the link to PS you provided above.

I think that could look beautiful! It's a little scray to not know how it will turn out, but also very exciting!
You HAVE TO post photos for us, even if you decide the ring design is not for you:yes:

Thanks Swanky!!! I will definitely post for you to see and comment on even if I am dissapointed--but I am trying to wait positively--and patiently:hysteric:......

Here is a link to halo and pave settings for diamonds. There are many to choose from. I do not know anything about this jeweler except that many of the ladies on
pricescope use it for a resource. Some of the rings are to die for. LOL
Hope this helps.

just copy and paste

Wow shanam!!! Thank you soooo much this is the largest selection of rings that are exactly what I was looking for--some of these give me a very good idea as to what I might expect. Thanks a bunch--will keep you posted for when the final setting finally gets here...:sweatdrop:

Pearlmans is a great shop. They have tons of brands and that guy knows his stuff. Ive never gotten a diamond from him but the rings themselves he gets are great and his pricing is phenomenal.

I think a diamond with trillion sides is a more modern look, while the halo is more antique in appearance. I would choose one style or the other. The MWM ring is beautiful and his work is very well regarded. The round with halo that you posted is also lovely. I just wouldn't try to combine all of these elements in one ring. Enjoy designing your engagement ring! How exciting for you...:smile1:

^ that is what I am fighting with--but our jeweler says it will look beautiful--the setting is inspired by a carl messler setting and the trillion will just take the space of the split shank--I can't stand modern and after setting the stones in the setting I did not get a modern feel from it at all but if I don't like the finished product I will just keep working at it till I do and if that means no trillions I will just hold on to them for something else.
