UPDATE - PLEASE HELP!!! Restore my So Green Picotin 18

Dear all Picotin experts/lovers! I purchased the so green clemence Picotin 18 from Fashionphile last week. It came with full set and everything looks fine except for the sagging corners due to the way they stored it, I presumed. They probably stored it by putting the bags on top of each other or something. The bag was not stuffed and looked smashed inside the box when I first received it. The leather seems pretty soft and on top of that they didn’t store it properly so they ruined the shape.

I LOVE this color so much and am obsessed with the monochrome lock that’s why I determined to get both so pink and so green Picotin 18. My so pink I got last month although also clemence but it seems to be thicker and more structured. I don’t even need to put a bag insert for it. Now with this so green I got from FP, I put the bag insert in just to see if it helps and it looks better but the corners still sagging.

I am planning to buy a pillow bag shaper to put it in and see. However, I’m not sure if it will help with the sagging corners at all. All the experts here please help and share some tips based on your experience. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to keep although I love the color so much. Once Clemence is smooshy like that, it's hard to restore structure. You *might* be able to stuff out those corners but no guarantee. If the current shape bugs you, I'd return.

I don't think it's been stored badly just not fully.

Bag pillow won't do it though. You need to get right into the base-edges.

Get some acid-free tissue paper.
Put it under a non-beached/non coloured teacloth (if you've washed it a thousand times that fine)
Roll-up like a snake.
Make a round (snake eating it's own tail)
Pack it around the base on the inside
Pack with more caissons of tissue paper and stick the pillow in to fit

It’s beautiful and honestly, I don’t think it is bad at all. I think you should wrap some tissue paper up or a towel and just kind of push that corner area out for a while.

To be honest I would NOT want to let go of it bcuz it’s like new condition and the lock is still sealed. The only problem is the sagging at the corners… but then this bag is made to be sagged anyway.

I'm sure just carrying around with actual things in the bag will help too, so just use it.

Hermès uses hot air to straighten creases from leathers that can't be steamed or ironed, as can be seen in this video:



So what I would do is that I'd stuff the bag with pillows/paper to straighten it out, and then using a blowdryer in the hottest setting, focus on the parts you'd want corrected.

Dunno, probably worth a try.

This is how I would expect a Picotin to look. It’s squashy and unstructured by design. It’s gorgeous!

No way would I use a hair dryer at its highest setting on an H bag, but that’s just me. The very nature of Clemence leather + unstructured bag will be reflected in the relaxed look. I personally love it, but I also have one in Barenia that is quite structured. If you prefer that look, maybe consider Maurice leather, or use a sturdier insert (not my preference but better than a hair dryer). I think it looks great as is…

Yes, I agree with you. I would not dare to use high heat on neither Hermès or Chanel bag either. At the most I’d try the lowest heat lol.
