Unusual color transfer situation

Everyone knows that brand-new, dark-colored jeans can rub off onto our bags.

It's happening to me, but the thing is, I have had these jeans for about two years. They were never a problem. I even wash all of my clothes together, and they don't do any damage in the wash. But a couple of months ago, they started turning my bags, and even sometimes my feet, blue! Has this happened to anyone else? Why would this happen now and not when they were new?

I like these jeans, but I'm thinking about getting rid of them and buying some cheap, light-colored Old Navy jeans to put my mind at ease!

I've never had my jeans turn my feet blue! I do know that you can get color transfer even from old jeans. I wonder if it would help to put vinegar in the rinse when you wash them.
