I got my Speedy B 25 mono last November 2019, and I've used it a couple of times. Love it, definitely.

I knew patina is bound to happen with the mono, I was expecting it. However, what I didn't expect is for the two handles to show different shades of patina, separately :shocked: Not sure if you would notice on pictures, but I tried capturing it.

The bag is fairly new, so I find it very noticeable, since one handle is still kinda light in color, the other side already a turning a little brown. :hrmm: I don't remember dropping oil on it or anything. Is there a way around this? I do use wipes every two or three uses. Should I wipe the lighter side more often, so it would patina faster and "catch up"? :huh: Or is this how the patina process usually starts and just leave it be? This is my first LV mono.

don't keep wiping the handles because you eventually will dry out the leather. i wonder if it is because of the consistent wiping that one handle has taken more color than the other. see if you can tan the lighter side just slightly and see if it will even out the patina process

Yes this, I ruined my speedy handles because I cleaned them to much with baby wipes and magic erasers. The handles will dry out when you keep using the wipes I now just leave my bags alone.

Do you use hand lotion all the time. Seeing how your hand touches the darker handle it could be the combination of sun exposure and hand lotion that made one handle patina quicker than the other. I would cover up up the darker handle and then sunbath the lighter one. I don't recommend using products on the vachetta because I've read too many threads where OP made it a lot worse.

Got it, no more wipes. Just let it be. Maybe I'll sunbathe the lighter handle every now and then. I just hope when the other side tans some more, the difference won't be as obvious.

Thanks for the responses! :smile::heart:

I agree with previous posters. I think you should let it happen organically. Sometimes when we take matters into our own hands it becomes worse. Case in point my sperrone bb, I messed it up thinking I can make the patina even; now it looks worse. I would leave it alone

Did you sunbath the lighter handle? How are they now 2 years later?
:smile:
