Okay, so I thought I had lost a favorite earring out in public, but it turned out to be at the bottom of my husband's junk tray. Meanwhile, I had the mate made into a pendant.

Would it be absolutely ridiculous to ask my SA to get the pendant turned back into an earring? These were my favorite earrings. I did have to pay for the alteration from earring to pendant, so I'd likely have to pay to turn it back. If it's the same price, then ultimately the cost of these changes would be almost as much as the original retail for the earrings nearly 10 years ago.

I even bought the same earrings on ebay to replace them and while they are physically the same, it's just not the same emotionally, so I'm actually not keeping the replacement pair.... but I still love the look.

The earring is really cute as a pendant. I wear it everyday. And since Tiffany never put this out as a pendant, it's one-of-kind at the moment.

Leave it alone? Turn it back?

Well, it sounds as though your heart won't be satisfied until you change your pendant back to an earring. If the cost is minimal, do it. It will make you happy!

+1

Could it be a possibility to wear the new ones from ebay and keep this as pendant? It's really beautiful as a pendant too:graucho:. If note, change it back if your heart tells you so. Good luck with making up your mind Junkenpo!

lol Such a first world problem, right?

I wish I could just be happy with the replacement pair, they are exactly the same as mine, but when I wore them all I could think was "These aren't really mine." I barely used the ebay pair and I love secondhand jewelry!

And I really like the little heart as a pendant. I like the way it looks on the chain with the ladybug, but I do miss having a pair of hearts on my ears. I even thought about keeping just one of the ebay pair to match mine and selling the mate, but just the thought of that makes me feel like I've got a lopsided head. :p

Does anyone wear mismatch earring pairs? Like a complementary style, but not the same earrings? I know LV sells earrings like that sometimes. Maybe that would work for me. "My" earring on one ear and a complementary-but-not-the-same earring on the other. Heart shape diamond stud, maybe? lol:graucho:

I would keep it as is. Earrings are easier to lose (as you found out) than a necklace so there is no saying you wouldn't lose/misplace one of the earrings in the future. You can wear the pendant you have now for sentiment, keep the old one for an in-case situation and wear the new ones when you want to wear heart earrings. They are 'yours' even though they aren't the original pair. Loving the design is a good enough reason to wear them.

Once you change the pendant back to an earring will you then miss the pendant?
You wear it everyday, right?
I would not wear mismatched earrings. Last Summer while vacationing on your beautiful island I had this notion that it would be elegant to buy two mismatched tahitian pearls earrings.
Glad that I decided to buy a matching pair after all.....

That's what I'm afraid of! lol It's really light and I like the way it looks with the lady bug. Plus, like you... I'm worried I may not like a mismatched pair after all.

I wouldn't turn it back. It makes a darling pendant. Keep the extra earring just in case or turn it into a dangle ring.

Oh.. I like the idea of a dangle charm... I wonder if my SA could get the approval to turn it into a removable charm....:thinkin:

I like the pendant. Pendants tend to show up more, too.

What if you made the other one into a pendant that you could hang from an earring wire? Then you could switch between drop earrings and necklace pendant.

Or maybe you could drop the pendants from plan stud earrings, like small gold balls.

I can understand how you feel about having your original heart earrings back, but I really like the heart pendant and thinks it's great with your ladybug. I like the idea of making the mate into a charm of some sort.

Maybe given more time the replacement earrings will be fine to wear when you want heart earrings, because you'll still have and be wearing the originals, just in another form.

No to the mismatched earrings ....
