Hello,

I’d like to get my hubby for Christmas a cashmere scarf.
He’s totally not into luxury brands (Gucci, Dior, LV), with the exception of Hermes because he acknowledges that quality is there.
He mostly likes heritage UK brands, except for Burberry logo items, and he wears a lot of Ben Sherman polo, so with a ‘60s vibe. He taught me of brands I’ve never heard before, like Baracuta!
I’d like it to be made in UK.
Thank you!

Hi, have you heard of Joshua Ellis? They have a really long brand history and their cashmere looks really good. I can't share personal experience since I haven't purchased anything (yet), but this sounds like a brand he might be interested in.

Johnstons of Elgin make for Hermes (sitting on one of their double-face cashmere blankets right now!)

Pringles of Scotland (I'm sitting, looking at a vintage 1950s cashmere cardigan slumped over a chair)

Brora more contemporary but good value (also Clearance on the same site) Not the same quality as the two above though

Turnbull does some
So does a company called Beg, but DH told me they’re too large and warm for him, so I’m going to wear it this winter

@papertiger ,hope you get the vintage pringles. I find the vintage wears like iron

Thanks again you all! I’ve already found some interesting design for hubby and also ideas for other gifts, my sister surely need a pair of cashmere socks to wear during the cold Winter nights at home!

Update:
I ordered a cashmere shawl for my husband from Johnston of Elgin during Black Friday, and got it delivered today.
It was a pleasant transaction: the price included all custom duties and I didn’t have to pay anything else on delivery.
For 120€ I got a shawl, a cashmere comb and drawers perfume for wool/cashmere.
The quality looks great, and Johnston have regular offers on their products.
I will definitely buy again.

I also gave a look at Pringles of Scotland but their prices were higher, they also added custom duties but at the end the price was well double than Johnston’s.
Overall I find their designs a bit trendier than Johnston.

Can’t wait to order again!

Somewhat related question -- some of the modern Hermes women's sweaters are made in Scotland (I don't think any of their men's sweaters are still made there). Does anyone know who the makers are for the "made in Scotland" sweaters?
