type of leather on a Birkin

Are there any markings on a Birkin which will indicate the type of leather it is?

Not to my knowledge. But the receipt sometimes references the leather type.

I bought a 40 cm birkin last week and it does not mention leather on the receipt. I find this odd as it states size and color but no leather type. no markings on the bag either. I am sure mine is Togo but if I wanted to re sell it I can't really prove the leather type

Hmm.....usually they write down the type of leather as well in the invoice. I'm wondering why they didn't write it.... So what's the full information in your invoice then?

Nope, they usually don't, at least not on the bags I've bought. I have seen it on some receipts but it isn't standard.

You don't have to prove anything. The bag speaks for itself and for the leather it is made of.

The type of leather is on both my Birkin and Kelly receipts, maybe they just do that in Australia
