I didn't know if I should have posted this with the other thread, but I wanted to show you the cute pin/pendant I just bought. Mom always had turtle or tortoise brooches; most were 1940's costume jewelry--those jelly-belly things. I found this on eBay a week or so ago, and just had to have it, ro remember Mom by (along with the hummingbird necklace):

Isn't it cute? I don't wear brooches, but it's also a pendant. Mom would've liked it. I don't think I'll get any of her turtles (the family are dividing her possessions, and my brother, with whom she lived, said her last wish was to give a lot of her costume jewelry to her great-grandaughters to play with). My family an I are on bad terms, except for that brother; the other 2 haven't spoken to me in over 6 years--so I only asked for a few small items. I had forgotten about the turtle pins when my brother asked what I wanted. I did ask for Dad's "Wampus cat" Army insignia sterling shield pins (they are pinned on your overseas cap. They have black-enameled rampant lions on them--I used to wear them many years ago--cool pins!). I may not wear them (actually, 1 pin back is broken, if I recall), but I may pin them on the overseas cap of his that I have.
