Thought provoking…..I’m with you, would love to know more about this possibly becoming an option to purchase without being a vvip….(and the price.)
I still don’t understand why they can sell a turquoise two butterfly pendant for $11,100, which is almost always in stock and easy to get, and uses about as much turquoise as an Alhambra motif, but they can’t do an alternating pave Alhambra bracelet with just two turquoise motifs and the rest diamonds and hence, mark it way up in price. Similar bracelets are around the $16,000 mark and I’m sure they could charge a premium. It interesting to me that the turquoise pieces currently on offer are not that hard to get, but stick it in an Alhambra and everyone loses their mind.
That’s kind of how I feel about my turquoise perlee earrings. It’s a pretty nice size piece of turquoise for a fraction of the price of turquoise VA. Seems they could still make them in VA 🤷🏻♀️.

Maybe they will do what they did with blue agate and introduce more vintage sized pieces in turquoise. I would LOVE some vintage sized turquoise earrings in yellow gold.

Of course I knew this was only offered to VVVIPs but dang…that is a serious prespend. It would be a slap in the face to the VVVIPs to be offered this piece so exclusively only for VCA to then offer it as an everyday line. I get it. That is crazy to have to spend that much to be offered an overpriced necklace, and this coming from me- a person whose UHG piece is the pave-turquoise bracelet. I will say I never liked the 5-motif turquoise. Don’t ask, but even though I love turquoise, the 5 and 10 motif never looked great on me, but the alternating pave is gorgeous. I just can’t justify pay so much over retail for it. There was a bracelet that was on eBay for a bit and sold. I’ve now seen a number of the 20 motif on the secondary market, but just one 5 motif. I’d be happy to pay a small premium, not the ridiculous amount that the one reseller was asking. It’s afterall a very small amount of diamonds and just turquoise. Van Cleef’s turquoise, though amazing quality, in the end, is just turquoise, not worth the markup to me. However, to each their own.
