Tumi handbags? Any opinions?

I'm looking for a black tote and don't want to spend a LOT of money it and came across Tumi bags. Are these good quality? I like their "signature" nylon bags.

My other choice would be a Coach, so not sure which way to go.

Any opinions appreciated! Thanks!

Another Tumi fan here.

I have a shoulder tote/satchel type thing, and briefcase, both in the black nylon. D-U-R-A-B-L-E, and still look great after many years of use and travel. :yes:

I wouldn't have thought so, but some of the prices on ebay are amazingly good! I always thought the fakes were much more high end bags, but ya never know these days.

Hi twoharleygal, what about custom-made leather totes? I read about this leather craftsman a few weeks back and found his site fascinating. He seems like a real character :D You might care to check out an article about him here:

Thanks for the links! I enjoyed reading the emails he receives for requests. :p

They look like beautiful bags, but right now I'm just trying to find a nylon bag and think I'm definitely going to get the Tumi!

I love, love Tumi and their bags are so functional and beautiful without frou frou.

Some of the prices on ebay for Tumi do seem amazingly good but they are probably real bags. I visited a Tumi outlet (at Woodbury Commons in NY) last year for the first time and found some tremendous bargains, which made me realized how those bags could be so well priced on ebay. Tumi has new colors and styles every season.

If you find a bag you like on ebay, post it in the authenticate this thread. Though I don't think there is fake Tumi, yet, you never know!!

(knock wood) I have yet to find fake Tumi on ebay, and I'm always looking for Tumi there myself, just in case something fabulous turns up. Their seasonal sales are wonderful and their outlets have even better prices if they have the piece you are looking for. I'm betting most of the ebay sellers are near outlets to be offering these kind of deals.

You can also find past season Tumis at Marshalls, TJMaxx, Nordstrom Rack, and the like. Good luck and I hope you find the bag you love!

Tumi large Sway bag in light blue and the black messenger bag from 3 years ago.....I also have 4 pieces of their luggage. When I travel it's Tumi all the way.....the messenger bags are great (except Signature collection has an annoying strap). I also use my Coach messenger bags when I travel in the monogram mini print in white and blue.....it also came in brown.
