I’ve been trying to decide to let go of the beauty below. I use it rarely, I’m more into crossbody bags and it’s a tad more delicate than my other bags. The leather is like butter! However every time I take it out to move on I get sucked in to the quality and beauty of it. I’d say I’ve used it twice in the last year, so I know it is surplus to requirements. Yet it’s still here! The other issue is how much I’d get for it now. It was €3000 at the time, around 2014. How do you all decide?!

Gorgeous bag! A quick search shows me comps selling and listing as low as $580.31 - 1,255.37 USD in black. It's a buyers market right now, so with a retail price of $4,400 USD, try to hold onto this beauty a little longer unless you don't mind losing on 70-80% of your original spend.
Thank you! I take it out to sell every now and then, and put it away again pretty quickly! I’ll probably hold on to it for another while, I just saw someone on instagram put a crossbody strap on it, I may do the same! That would definitely make me use it more. The lambskin is soooooo touchable and smooshy!

If you don't need the money I wouldn't try and convince myself to let it go. You seem to love the bag and you may tire of crossbodys eventually!
Very good point! I try to let go if I don’t use them much and maybe replace with something more useful, but I don’t have my eye on anything at the moment. It would only be sold to fund a new bag! I may be holding on to it, I find the quality of LV and many other brands isn’t quite as good as when this beauty came out!

I remember this bag I really wanted the Damier Ebene version of it. What I loved the most is that the chain can be removed to add a crossbody strap. I would keep it bc it’s pretty versatile from a day bag to evening

Thank you! I loved it when I got it and got a lot of wear out of it! That’s it I’ve decided, I’m going to test it out with one of my crossbody straps! It’s staying put!

I don't think you're ready to part with it. I have a closet full of bags I rarely use, (some never used) but I still love them. Given the fact that the newer malletage bags are selling for significantly higher than what you paid a decade ago, I think you're wise to keep, especially if you might restyle and start using more. It's surprising how low the resale market appears to be for this bag. I believe in trusting your gut and it seems there's a reason you hesitate every time you reach for it with the intent of selling. Wouldn't be worth getting rid of in my opinion. It's gorgeous and perfectly still in style IMO. I hope you start enjoying it!

Great decision! Given the poor resale value with the market the way it is currently, and that you still love aspects of it- I agree changing up the strap may help! Plus you're right, LV quality seems to be slipping now. I've had the same dilemma with other bags, and am glad I've held onto them- sometimes a crossbody isn't suitable for what I need
Enjoy!

Thanks everyone! I think it’s the right decision for now. I’ve let go of some other pieces without a problem so my hesitation is telling! I’m going to order a shorter top handle chain as well, really change it up!

I agree with the others, that if you don't need the money, don't sell it. It's OK to hold onto it without using it for a while. I go through periods like that, as well. I've also sold bags that I've later regretted, mostly for money, but I still miss them regardless. Hang onto it for a while and see where it takes you.
