I'm already dreaming about my next Kelly although it will likely take me a while before I purchase. I thought I'd do a bit of research to get ready.
I'm considering getting a black box Kelly in sellier and not if I should get a 28 or 32...If I was considering a retourne, I'd definitely get a 32 as I love the size of my current Kelly, a retourne in MF Fjord.
I am concerned that although I love the size of my current Kelly and the vibe it gives off, a sellier in box which has some shine will look a lot bigger. Would love your opinion. And please post pix of you carrying your selliers if possible!
FYI, I'm only 5'3" and I will not use this bag for formal or fancy events. I would use as everyday and with casual clothing.
The look I'm trying to channel is the one of Renee below. Do you think that is a 32?

I had a black box Kelly 28 before. I sold it fairly quickly after. The structure and hardness of box did not look casual on me, and for my lifestyle I would have very few opportunities to use it. I wasn’t able to fit very much into the bag, and it was difficult to open and close.
However it looks incredibly chic on others, I’m sure if I didn’t live by the beach it would’ve completed many more outfits. I’ve been eyeing a couple black Kellys in Togo :angel: hoping to give the slouchy leathers a try.

A K28 in sellier does not hold much - something to consider if it will be a day bag. Nor is the opening very large (especially when it's in box calf leather). Here's me trying to fit my hand in the opening of my K28 in box. (I have small hands.)

Thank you S...Definitely feeling that the 32 is my best option....hmmmmm.....now gold or palladium HW? Gold definitely easier to get and i wear a lot of gold jewelry but the PHW looks a bit more edgy. Well I guess I will see what bag finds me! I had my eye on one that was amazing but sadly she sold already. Just wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger.

Love love love! This is the only bag, outside of my pending special order that I know I'm busting out of ban island to get. Ebene or chocolate Kelly on my mind all darn day!

Not sure how you did it, but now ebene is on my mind too. I don't usually gravitate toward dark browns, but ebene is such an interesting color.

I vote for palladium! As you said,,PHW is more edgy and would tone down the formal tone of the box leather plus sellier combo. I came across a vintage dark gray box K28 sellier with PHW in Tokyo and it was breathtaking!

Oh a graphite box with PHW would be amazing! I'm kicking myself for not buying a black chamonix with brushed PH ....but just had purchased a couple new bags and it just wasn't the right time....
