Michael Kors Trying to cut back, so inventoried my bags

I store them in dust bags mostly, so you can 'forget' what you have. So I took pictures of all my bags so I can remind myself what I have and not be tempted to buy new bags.

So I definitely prefer hobos (which I knew) and I have a nice collection fossil crossbody bags for more casual wear. The problem is, I am seeing 'holes' in my nicer collection. I have lots of purples, burgundy reds, and blues beyond the normal browns and blacks. One hunter green and 2 fuschia'a. So it is making me want to go shopping to fill in!

Over the last few years I've bought so many bags that more than once it's taken me quite some time to reorganize my closet to fit them all. Being raised in a generation that bought one bag for winter and one bag for summer, I found myself regretting how many of these purses spent most of their time on a shelf. I really missed using a bag to the point where I just loved it more and more. Also, when I discovered MK three years ago, I tended to buy bags based on color because no one uses colors as beautiful as MK. But recently I realized that some of these didn't work so well with my wardrobe and that I wanted a few classics. So, in order to finance my new bags, I've purged my closet and have sold or am in the process of selling those that I really haven't used much. I have to say it's a wonderful feeling and I have all this room on my purse shelf! But I do have regrets when I think about how much money I've spent. Now, I plan to love a few perfect purses and use them until they feel like old friends!

I got a great deal on a denim python jeweled selma, and it is a gorgeous bag, but it is being purged on ebay. I just know I won't wear it much as it is not my style. I am definitely trying to keep my bags on the timeless list, and trendy styles are cheaper bags so 1 or 2 years wear is not a big sacrifice.

the flashiest bag I have is a cinnabar python hamilton, and that I am just in love with.

With fees and shipping, even with my great deal, ebay is not really a moneymaker. I do wonder how the people who do it for a living make money. I guess they are prepared to wait a long time until supply dwindles and they can get a better price. Well, I might end up just returning it to Macy's. Nice to know I have that break even back-up, anyway.

It was an impulse buy...sigh... I am learning....

I know exactly what you mean. I had at one point 15 bags within 2 years. I have sold 2 now selling 3 more. I used to be a very big impulse buyer now I am choosing which bags are classic and will be a good investment for years to come. Narrow down what colors you have is important too. The letting go is hard but selling them is a way to get rid of bags you don't really need and use the money then to purchase a purse you will use for a long time to come. Basic colors like black and luggage are very nice to have you can even own two blacks one with silver hardware one with gold if you like matching your hardware to your jewelry it all just depends on your preferences and what colors are already in your collection.

I did this a few days ago because I want to acquire two Selmas and the same thing happened to me! I have 8 bags- 1 gray, 1 navy, 1 green, 1 brown, and the rest are all black with silver hardware. All I see are gaps now :nogood:

Then your the perfect candidate for a purge :) I recommend selling off a few bags with the black and silver hardware to get a black with gold hardware or white bag :)
I've thought about it but they're all different shapes! One is a mini crossbody I got in Harajuku that isn't worth much, one is a hobo, one is a tote, and one is a satchel. And I love and use them all...

Yikes, I've bought 10 in 3 months! Lol. I'm so bad.

I just purchased 4 MKs in the past 3 months! But I only started with 3 bags (2 LVs, 1 Coach) and really try to stick with classics that will last the test of time. At this point, I love looking at all the new summer colors and styles, but I think I'm done shopping for bags for a while...so wallets are next. LOL. I just purchased an LV wallet, another classic, that will go with all the new handbags. So now I'm really done. I promise!

That's not tooooo bad and especially if you go for the classics that was my biggest error I bought a bunch of bags because they were cute rather than they would be in style for a long time so trying to get rid of some stuff to buy more classic pieces :).
