I just took a picture of my original e-ring/wedding band. It is 24 years old. My husband and I were 25 years old and had a baby on the way. We planned a wedding in 6 weeks! Since then , I got a .93 Marquise of not the greatest quality. Actually it has a tiny chip on bottom. I also received a 1.25 round solitaire, a .50 princess and soon I hope to get a .7-.8 tiffany fancy yellow soleste. My question is - should I put the Marquise in this original ring. The one in picture is just a teeny little thing. I don't even know if it is big enough to measure. The ring in picture cost $550 in 1991 but is very sentimental. Thoughts?

If it holds memories for you, it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Do what makes you happy :)

(BTW - if the marquise stones are not of similar size, it might be a bit complicated/pricey to do what you are suggesting)

Yes, the .93 Marquise would need something built to accommodate it. I'd place it in the middle of the ring. So there would be 6 little rounds on each side of center. 2 rows of 3 .

Periodically I'll take stuff into the jeweler and ask him what he can do with what I have.
I believe in remaking and working diamonds into something I will wear. I hope your jeweler can help you sort out your ring situation. It sounds like you have good stuff to work with.
