The first parts of those threads were merged with other existing threads, leaving the rest orphaned.

I like to post on random threads here and there. How do I prevent it from automatically “watching” the thread after I post to it?

I don’t want to receive email notifications on a bunch of random threads.

I always have to manually scroll back up and hit “unwatch” after I post anything. It’s annoying.

I do exactly what you do. It only happens the first time you post though, subsequent posts in the same thread after unsubscribing do not cause you to subscribe again.

But is this the same way to unsubscribe to a thread after you intentionally subscribe?

I’ve been trying to unsubscribe to this one thread, and I’ve never been able to do it.

At the top of the thread on the right is something that says 'unwatch thread.' Just click on it. This is on a desktop. I don't know where you would see that on the app.

You can view all the threads you're subscribed to and select which ones to stop receiving email notifications for - or unsubscribe altogether.
