I've just lost my new trinity cord bracelet today. Has anybody else had the same problem? I have no idea how this could have happened.

This is highly unfortunate.
I can only suspect that one or both of the knots on each side were not tight/secure enough and/or the ends were not fully bonded when the ends where burnt.
That is my best guess because I know how to make the knots as I watched a video on it and got further advice and instruction by an SA on how to make them and secure them. Even a novice, such as myself, can make these knots so I can only suspect the SA who put yours together was rather careless.
I would contact Cartier and see what they can do for a replacement since you say it’s new and appears to be the fault of the SA who constructed the knots as normally it is a very secure item. Also, it’s a fairly inexpensive item when compared to their other items so you never know.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have written to the store to let them know what has happened. Fingers crossed they will be sympathetic.
Was this a credit card purchase? Some have 90 day loss and theft protection.
