Trendy WOC vs classic mini of any kind

I went to Chanel today and fell in love with a trendy woc. It was expecting $3k-$3500 somewhere around there. Floored was my response after I found out it was $4500.

The mini square is currently 4700. Mini rectangle 4900.

Can anyone help me through this with their opinions?

I have a daytime job that I don’t wear designer. My weekends are where I wear my baubles.

I have many a small designer bag (over 7 options) and many (over 7) WOC.

The WOC is the -perfect- pop of color. WOCs are what I use for nice dinners and outings which are maybe equal if not as common daytime weekend events where I would wear a small designer bag.

I’m slightly offended that the WOC is almost as expensive as a mini. Do you guys think the versatility is worth the price?

To me the WOC is easier to travel with, take to a wedding dinner or even dinner etc… but man!!!! That price tag!!!!

Mini rectangular would be my choice in your situation, mini rectangular holds a lot more than woc like doubled amount. be aware though mini strap is a lot shorter than woc

I would go with adding a mini if you have plenty of WOCs in your collection.

Honey52 I feel ya. I visited Chanel while in Las Vegas this past May. I was super-shocked of price increase on WOC's. I was looking at a simple CC logo WOC in plum colour. A perfect pop of colour. I could not believe it was $4,700 dollars!!!
I am bummed as the WOC used to be a better price point (considering it's Chanel), and most WOC fits me crossbody as the chains are long. I cannot justify the price for new and preloved Chanel any longer, including costume jewelry. If you have the passion, I would say bite the bullet with all the crazy price increases. I would check for pre-loved as well.

It sounds like the piece you fell in love with and the piece you really want is the trendy WOC, and are only considering a mini because of the price point. So you should get the WOC.

I understand your struggle with the price, but $4900 is a lot to pay for a bag you don’t love.

@honey52 - Trendy WOC has always been more expensive than the classic or seasonal WOCs since it has an actual turnlock.

Sounded like you’ve many WOCs but no mini yet, IMO, add a mini, slightly bigger than WOC.

Also, mini easy for travel and can go from day to nite from my experiences:

Wear crossbody

Or shortened the strap with hair tied under the flap to wear on shoulder

Or

loop around the flap makes double straps wear on elbow.

Mini price will hike just a matter of time, go for it!

Chanel has lost their darn minds with the prices; I mean really?! My daughter purchased me WOC 3 years ago. It’s very functional and can used casually or more dressy. It sounds like you want the WOC. I say get it. And, if your not to happy about the price, maybe you can find a preloved one in good shape.
