After seeing everyone's reaction to the traditional piece of jewelry that Queen Mahra showed in jewelry collection thread, I decided to show you guys more
This kind of jewelry was usually bought to be worn on the wedding day (the traditional night). Our collection is rather small, as my mother did not wear very traditional jewelry in her wedding (I will be showing you pictures of what she wore). The pieces you'll see are considered children's size. They were worn by my sisters and myself during the many national occasions, that used to take place at school, or the national holidays when we were kids, and they are usually worn along with a fully tradition attire. If i ever found a photograph of myself or one of my sisters wearing the full costume I'll definitely upload it to show it to you
(I'm starting to think that I should brake into one of my grandmothers' safes with my camera and show you the real stuff
)
The first piece is called "Merta'asha".. literal translation: The Shaky
It is worn like a choker and the golden fringe hangs loose on the chest area. The fringe comes in many different lengths, from as short as an inch to very long where it hangs just above the waist!
