Hi everyone, i was just wondering what is everyones opinion as tory as far as a designer. Is she a good designer. Where does everyone think she ranks. Is she higher on the scale than most contemporary i seen a thread where ppl were unhappy with the quality of her things. I do like her handbags and shoes but she seems kind of pricey for her things being made in china. Thanks

I'm curious about this, too, actually. I just bought my first TB last night at an outlet and while I love the bag, I still am a bit curious myself regarding this...
I am new to the TPF but I have to agree with you all about the price points. I own 5 pairs of her shoes (4 revas and 1 pair of patti wedges) and though I love them to death and wear them all the time, I can only justify spending all that money because of the fact I wear them all the time. I LOVE her designs but the prices seem outrageous on some things. The quality is there in some shoes but others i.e. like rubber flip flops 40$?!? and the t-strap sandals ranging from 195-200$?!? I bought my Gucci jellies for less than that!
When I visited the Desert Hills outlet the other day there was a line out the door just to get into the store. What was even more confusing is that the outlet doesn't really give much of a discount. i could get a better deal at Bloomingdales f&f events.
Someone needs to enlighten me as to why her products are priced where they are. Especially (As prev poster said) if they are made in China?

i agree. tory is very over-priced. the only justification is that her stuff is very wearable and that eventually you do feel you get your money's worth. i have a few shoes and one bag and feel they are classic. would never buy her clothing though. that to me is not worth the $$$.
I think her clothing is beautiful, and have more than enough pairs of her shoes BUT made in China turns me off. If I buy made in China, the price needs to be a LOT lower.
