Too Young for Facial Work?

I am 27 and would like to get something done under my eyes. I like my face, but the last couple of years in school have really taken a toll on the sensitive area under my eyes- too much computer use and not enough sleep, I guess!
So I have two questions:

1. Is it too soon to think about getting some work done on my face?
2. What kind of surgery would it be? I have some fine lines and darkening.
TIA!!!

IMO any surgeon who does work on a 27 YO is unethical. I'd see a dermatologist first to see what kind of non invasive things are available. And there is no substitution for not getting enough sleep.

I'd say even if you had something done, if you don't make a point of getting proper rest daily, it will be for nothing. Having said that, I think 27 is far too young for invasive eye work.

Seriously OP, sleeping well for a few days straight will dramatically improve everything. Also drinking 8-16 glasses of water a day makes my skin very dewy and hydrated and I'm in my late 30's and often get confused with my niece who is in her mid 20s. My mom always drilled into me that sleep and water are the optimal weapons plus good sunscreen. Perhaps a skin brightener from a dermatologist or decent beauty counter would help the darkness?

/\/\ Thanks for the suggestions! I drink plenty of water; always have. Sadly, more sleep isn't really an option right now- in additionally to being a FT student, I'm a mom and have a small business  . I have tried some beauty products from Christian Dior and Lancome (can't remember the names right now), but they didn't help. I might have to see if a prescription product would be more effective. Anyone have good experiences w/ derm-prescibed eye treatments?

Not sure what "age" people will find it socially acceptable to have surgery done, but it shouldn't matter what others think. The surgeons can tell you if they can achieve your desired look. Try asking a few reputable and conservative surgeons for their opinion. Real self is a good site where you can upload pix and have different doctors weigh in. More than likely, because you're young, they will advise against any kind of eye surgery.

I would say a good option for you at your age would be laser resurfacing under the eyes. I agree that "Real Self" is a good website to investigate if you are considering having any work done.

OP, do you get regular facials? They can make a huge difference in how your skin looks. Really you don't need surgery at 27 years old. There are plenty of other options out there.

I've been wanting to start having facials and I feel like it's overwhelming to decide what to do, any suggestions on how to start?

A good spa will tell you to come in for a consult prior to the facial, and the facialist will tell you what is best for your skin. No need to try and figure it out on your own.

I agree with all posters who recommended facials. There are also peels and lasers that can help with dark circles and skin resurfacing.

Those are less invasive measures that can have big results!

For a great skin care line look up: Neocutis; I've been using this line for years when I realized the high end dept store lines just weren't actually fixing any issues I had.

Is there a retailer for this product? A website? Thanks!
