Togo vs Cowhide Leather

Hi

Sorry if this is a silly question. I am not familiar with different leathers & was wondering what is the difference between togo and cowhide leather. I have read that togo is quite a solid, sturdy leather - is it just a far more superior leather? (I am assuming that it is because of Hermes' use of it).
