I am on a kick where I want to buy a toaster oven, as I live alone and to turn on my oven just for me is a pain.

Any recommendations? I saw one I really liked, but it is around $170. I figure I will use it a lot, so I want a good one.

Also, any good recipes you all have?

Thanks!

I have heard great things about this Cuisinart countertop combo convection steam oven... Basically you can do anything in there, even practically sous vide. It's expensive though, but if I was shopping for one, I'd spring for that one. But other than that if you are looking for the more normal kind, just look for a true convection one... Those seem to do well, don't have as many hot and cold spots.

As for recipes... I love to do stuff in ramekins in the toaster oven... Lots of recipes out there, perfect size for one person and can be made in the toaster oven. Some examples on this pin board: http://www.pinterest.com/bigkitchen/cocotte-for-one/

I love my toaster oven and use it a lot. I pretty much use the same recipes i used in my regular oven. I got this kitchen aid one http://www.kitchenaid.com/shop/-[KCO222OB]-400033/KCO222OB/ i liked that it came with two racks and the pan had a wired rack. The wired rack inside the pan is great when i make my sweet potato fries because i can line the pan and then add another layer on the rack. I also like the wire rack when i make chicken tenders because you don't loose the breading that you put on them. I even bought a small muffin pan, to make meatloaf muffins and egg white "muffins". When you find one you like shop around, i was able to get mine at kohls with a 30% off coupon.
