to whomever who owns a toyota prius or rav4?

I have a Prius and love it, I've had it for about a year and a half.
I get an average of about 50 miles to the gallon, and that is just driving in the city/suburbs, the mpg gets better on the motorway.
I don't know anything about cars but my DH chose a prius for me because he knew that a hybrid would appeal to me, and because it has one of the top Euro Ncap ratings for safety (DH watching out for me and our kids
), the rav4 is also incredibly safe, its rating being just slightly lower than the prius.
He wants to upgrade me to a lexus hybrid now, but I said no- I don't want to sell the prius, it is a great car.

We just bought a fully loaded Rav4 limited and im so excited about it!!!!
When we were deciding between the two, our SA made an awesome point....the technology in pirus and other hybrids are so new that no one knows how they will do in 5 years....so you are paying a lot now, for something that is not certain in the future. Im not sure of the price, but another point he made was you would have to drive it for a few years before you make up the initial price difference (aka what you paid for the car)
