Hello KS forum! First time posting over here but wanted to get opinions. I purchased the capri espadrille francis tote bag (aka lemon tote) when it first came out. Fell absolutely in love, couldn't wait to use it as my summer bag, thought it would easily become my favorite bag. Ripped he tags off, carefully placed it on a shelf and...

never touched it again until today. I feel extremely guilty that this beauty is going unloved, especially when I could get some cash back for it, but I'm also kind of selfish and hate to see it go, you know? What do y'all think? Was it inexpensive enough to just keep or should I give it chance with someone else?

This recently happened to me, too. I purchased a Grove Court Striped Maise earlier this year, in April or May, and have used it only one time from then until now. On the one hand, it's extremely tempting to keep it because it's such a nice bag; and, because of the stripes, it's so different from everything else I own. On the other hand... I've used it once. Once! And after months of owning it, that's just not enough reason for me - personally - to keep it.

I now have it listed for sale on Poshmark, and I'm about to list it on eBay. I felt a little guilty about purchasing it in the first place, too, but its usage (or lack thereof) hasn't justified it like some of my other initially "guilty" purchases. If you're feeling similarly, you might want to let it go, too. And just think: with the money you get from reselling, you could possibly buy a bag you like just as much if not more and one that you'll actually use more. :)

I actually have so many kate spade bags some in the same style but just different colors/patterns, I guess when I find something I love, I just get obsessed and then I get stuck. I forget about the other bags I own and don't use them anymore :(

If it's a summer bag and you haven't worn it at all this past season, why not wait until next spring/early summer and see if you feel like wearing it then? It's so easy to get rid of a summer bag in fall and regret it the following spring. Besides, if you do feel like selling it when next summer comes around, you'll probably get more for it since it'll be in season again! :)

So I have this dilemma often (:graucho:). I will definitely snatch up a bag when it's inexpensive but then I start questioning whether or not I really love the bag or the price -that is what you need to decide. It's ok that you haven't used it yet but will you use it next spring/summer? If so, hang on to it. If not, without much thought, how will you feel when you have to box it up and ship it out? I sold an older bag that I used and felt a little sad that I sold it but I know I won't use it and the person that bought it from me will - believe it or not, that made me feel better knowing someone else will give it the love I can't (crazy that we feel this way about our handbags ). If you're truly not sure, what till the spring/summer to decide since it's not something you'll carry this time of year. Hope that helps!

I agree with a few other comments -- hang onto it until spring and then decide. After not being "able" to use it all fall and winter you may change your mind! And if you still decide to sell, don't feel too guilty. We've all made these kinds of purchases (due to a low price, impulse, whatever). :smile1:

Thank you all very much for your input! I listed the item and as I saw the number of page views go up I got more and more sad so I pulled the listing before anyone had bid on it. It's a sunk cost at this point and the only way I'd want to part with it is if I got offered around $220+ which I probably will never get. I like it enough for now so I will definitely be keeping it :smile1:
