To keep or not to keep....preloved jypsiere 34

Hi everyone! I recently acquired a preloved clemence jypsiere 34 for a great price. I’ve been looking for a 31 but haven’t been able to find one in the right condition/color/price point.

I was planning to use this bag mainly for traveling. Wallet, makeup bag, phone & extra charger, iPad mini, bottle of water & snacks are what I’d probably carry. As has been discussed before, this bag is really heavy without anything in it and of course even heavier once filled. Also, I need to add more holes to the strap as I don’t like how low it hangs on me. This bag is from 2009 so it has the old strap holders (forgot what they’re called).

I’ve had my heart set on this bag for so long & found it for a great price. I can’t decide if I should keep it and deal with the negatives or return it and wait for a 31 to come along. Or maybe even consider another bag altogether. An Evelyne isn’t an option as I had one and sold it. It wasn’t for me.

Personally I’d keep the 34. If you like everything about the bag but are questioning the size, that can be tough but without knowing the full dimensions, 3cm really isn’t that much. Maybe an inch or so?

I’m a bigger person (176cm/5’9” and build average) and I cannot believe how small my Halzan 31 seems on me. I was thinking of asking for a 25 but after seeing the 31 and then buying it and putting my necessities (wallet, key case, sunglasses, corona kit, pills and small pouch with various necessities) there’s barely any room! I’m so glad I didn’t even ask to see the 25! And yes the bag is heavy, I think that’s just a Clemence leather trait. If you are more petite I could see being a bit overwhelmed with a larger sized bag, as on the other hand, I feel like small bags look dumb on me since I’m not small at all haha

I guess the questions are: do you think you could fit your full list of items in a 31? If so, do you think you’d miss any extra space?

A Kelly may be interesting to look into but I get that the Jypsiere is a better price point. You may also like a Bolide, probably a 31, but again it’s Clemence and could be heavy.

35 bolide Sikkim or relax (I forgot what it’s called; the good news; the Alfred; trying to remember what the steve looks like?; the TGM picotin; the 35 Victoria is a favorite of mine; the kelly flat; the cabag; the lindy 30 I’ve read holds a lot; and, i got my DH a 33 sellier Evelyne that looks nothing like our Evelyne and I thought might look good on me with a doubled strap! Oh, and the double sens. The herbag might be lighter than the larger Kelly’s

for non H totes: the old BV cabat; The Goyard St. Louis or Artois; the Faure le page daily battle; Moynat has a tote too; and I’ve always liked the discreet look of the reissue cerf. YSL, valentino and gucci all make totes. . .

Definitely return...the above says it all!! There are lots of other great options to choose from. @880 has lots of great suggestions!

Even if the price is good, it is probably too much for a bag you don‘t love!
