To Grow or Minimize a Collection

Really depends on your preferences.

Some people love buying and creating a collection. Just having the bags they get brings them joy, and also potentially sentimental value.

I personally dislike having a lot of “stuff” overall. I like to get a healthy amount of use for each of my bags, shoes, jewelry and clothes. Things that sit on a shelf or in a box tend to annoy me. And the longer they hang out doing nothing triggers me even more until I either find a way to use it or just sell it.
The only exception may be a gift from a close family or friend. Even if I don’t reach for it often, I will keep it. (Fortunately not too many of those lol)

Both are over-fashionable concepts IMO and are built for influencers. We don't have to bend ourselves into others' concepts.

Just make sure every single handbag you buy you love to use and absolutely love for its own sake.

If you feel that there's a real gap in your wardrobe, for an activity, special occasions, entire section of wardrobe, or fancy something completely alternative, then look again and see if there's another bag that fits that gap.

One at a time, admire, use and enjoy, 1, more or 10, or 30 (or more).

:goodpost:

I own two totes (medium and large), two handhelds (small and medium), and one crossbody. I love my handhelds and crossbody. I’ll use the medium tote on occasion.

I simply own and buy what I love and will wear.

It would be a waste for me to own bags I don’t use. But, I also love variety so being truly minimalist would drive me batty.

My comfort spot is 30-35 bags. I’m a little under that number now and feel the “itch” to add something fresh and special. That could be tomorrow or in 2 years.

Bottom line, I have a happy ease with my collection and don’t feel that imposing a rule I keep x number of bags would serve me in any way.
