I've been a rather inactive member of TPF for a very long time, mainly lurking and obsessively devouring the pictures and threads on everything Hermes :graucho:

The obsession began with a scarf about 3 years ago, purchased in Paris. Managed to squash and ignore the Hermes desire until this year, when I was so so lucky to find a beautiful red K35, again in Paris. Ever since then, this forum has been my "nightcap" - reading a few threads every night before bedtime lol and I know it's terrible, but ever since I saw a picture of the many beautiful box Kelly's, I can't stop thinking about them.

I love my K35, but it's in clemence and is a retourne. And it's huge (on me) and definitely not evening wear. I think I'm more of a structured bag girl, and a box Kelly 28 would probably be perfect for me. And the more I research, the more I really really want a vintage bag.

And so we come to my problem....

I've found a beautiful vintage BK for sale. Every box is ticked - colour, hardware, leather, even the decade was what I wanted. Except that it's a 32 and not a 28. And I'm not sure whether I should just get this because its in great condition and is almost perfect.... Except that it isn't. I think I could probably compromise on some of my other criteria, but I feel as if a 32 isn't really that far off from a 35 and what I really want is a smaller bag.

(Sounds like I'm doing a great job talking myself out of this lol) speaking of smaller bags, alternatively I COULD get another beautiful vintage Hermes (not a Kelly), but box leather, right size, right decade etc.

Please help. K32, other vintage bag, or just keep searching for the perfect K28?

Ps. Apologies for the super long post :(

+2

I have a sellier BBK 28 and it's the perfect proportions, in my opinion. Hold out for what you really want - I don't think it should take too long to find exactly the right one. It will be all worth it!
