I would like to start a dialogue about tell tail signs of authentic Balenciaga bags. As a way to inform others who may be in the ebay market for a B bag. I searched many ebay discussion boards and found some helpful hints but I think we could add to it. One posting (http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=luv2shop-hate2spend) claimed that you could authenticate a B bag based on the serial number on the back of the name tag (ex: a Balenciaga city should read 115784 3444 made in italy). However, I was in Barneys yesterday and decided to look at the tag inside one of the medium RH city and the tag read 115784 followed by 4 numbers that were not 3444. Does anyone have any factual information about the numbers on the back side of the tag that are not the style code?
