HI ALL! Sorry if this is somewhere, couldn't find it :confused1: I just wanted hear some of your tips on cleaning your rings. I have a diamond and blue topaz ring which is in desparate need of a 'bath' :p lol

Please share your best jewellery cleaner tips and tricks...TIA :heart:

however, i normally bring my jewelery to my "usual" jewellers if i happen to need to see them and they'll clean it for me for free. so, i've never actually tried the machine above myself.

if it's just for simple cleaning, i just use shampoo and a soft bristled toothbrush. i find the diamonds looks a little cleaner, but not as sparkly as when the jewellers do it.

I have an ultrasonic cleaner that I use when I'm being lazy, and it does an ok job. When I really want my jewelry to shine, I let it soak in a mixture of 1/4 ammonia to 3/4 water, then I use a small jewelry brush to clean it thoroughly under running water, and wipe dry.

I used to have one of those steam cleaners, and noticed the exact same one at my jewellers. I asked how they clean jewelry and they told me they use the steam cleaner for a quick cleaning, but in the back they have an ultrasonic cleaner they use, then wipe dry with a soft cloth. I didn't like the steam cleaner at all, and gave it to Goodwill.

my jewler taught me this trick. take a little windex put it in the microwave for 10 sec be careful it starts to bubble when it gets hot. take it out of the microwave place yr diamond in it and watch the dirt lift away. once to solution is cool remove yr jewlery and rinse. repeat depending how dirty it is.

one of my jewelers once cleaned my stud diamonds with windex. She just poured a little in those clear plastic zip pouches with the studs and shook around. Then she removed and patted it dry and it was a decent clean =)

Hmmm interesting tips- thanks girls! How much are these ultra sonic cleaners and where does one purchase them?

I think we all have windex under ours sinks so i will try that methid this afternoon
