  1. I tried doing a board search and didn't come up with a thread on this, sorry if it's a repeat question.

How do you determine how much to tip everyone in your salon? I have a manicurist I see every two weeks, and a hair stylist I see about every 6 weeks. The hair stylist has an assistant wash my hair. I've got three people to tip. Is it based on the amount of the service, like tipping a percentage of a meal at a restaurant?

  2. For a manicurist and hair dresser I tip 20% unless they're really, really amazing. Then I would tip about 25%. For the person who washes my hair I give them $3-5 depending on if it includes a scalp massage.

  3. Thanks, that helps a lot!
