Hello all... I just recently bought this YSL bag. It's less than 5" in diameter, so a smart phone won't fit. I know tiny bags have been popular recently. What are your creative solutions for carrying a phone, if you don't have any pockets and you have a tiny phone?

I only carry smaller bags. However, the one requirement is that they fit my phone. I have only one bag that does not fit my phone easily (Chloe Nano Drew). I loved the color of this bag enough that I bought it anyway. I only wear that bag when I am wearing an outfit that has pockets. Phone is kept in my pocket. I often carry my phone in my pocket anyway if I can. I find it faster to access in my pocket than if I keep it in my bag. I carry the Samsung Galaxy phone so it is decently large.

I do love small bags, but I like them to be designed to fit my phone, glasses, card holder, keys & lipbalm. That's my minimum. Channel 224 ( which is tiny) fits the above and so does a small Kelly clutch. The new Jacquemus is too small to fit the phone so it has to be carried separately by hand. Which is uncomfortable.

That's what pockets are for

For me, a purse has to be large enough to fit a phone, otherwise it's pointless. I don't like carrying it in the pocket of my pants or jeans. When I'm wearing a jacket, I don't mind slipping my phone in the pocket, but overall, I prefer to carry my phone in my purse.

Hmm... if no pockets then maybe a smartphone case that you can wear either crossbody/shoulder and/or has a wristlet strap. You might even be able to clip the case onto the strap of your new mini purse if not too heavy for the chains to support. Bandolier makes these cases and you can find similarly cheaper options on Amazon/eBay.

My phone never leaves my hand. And if I do put it down it is because I am with company and we are almost always sitting in a cafe or restaurant with tables to rest my phone on. Whenever I carry a bag big enough to put my phone in, I still find myself constantly fishing it out of my bag to message or switch songs and find it quite a hassle.

I’m a huge proponent of wearing men’s suit jackets/tuxedos... if it’s an evening event I like to throw them over my shoulders and take them off inside the venue. They have so many interior pockets that don’t distort the look of the garment from the outside! It’s perfection for a phone carry/conceal type situation when a tiny bag is called for  I however don’t limit this to evening- as I think the aesthetic is quite contemporary and chic.
