Timeless Classic in size Medium black lambskin VS 2.55 Reissue in black distressed calfskin size Large (Jumbo?) 28cm

The large Reissue is the 227. I have this bag and love it. Highly recommend. A bit more subtle in the Reissue style. I'll never part with mine! Obviously there's a size difference. Only you know how much you will carry. GL!
What's in your collection?
Is this more everyday or special occasion?
M/l can't be worn crossbody comfortably. Lambskin is more delicate than the reissue calfskin.
The m/l lambskin would be more for special occasions while the reissue could be for both everyday and special occasions.
I have a m/l lambskin and I find it hard to wear daily and have to baby it more.
So not knowing your collection and purpose, I'd say reissue.
If the m/l lambskin just makes you happier, then get that.
I love my m/l lambskin but it's not practical. But I didnt care, it was love at first sight! I had to get it.
So go with what you feel like you have to have in your collection or one you will regret if this is your last purse purchase.

I need a sort of a not to big bag but not a small either. Both are almost equal in size : Classic flap 25.5cm and the 2.55 reissue 28cm. I just wonder if the 226 can transition to evenings and soirées...?

I love the Classic flap in M/L in lambskin as it looks so classy and chic. You are so lucky to own one!!! And in lambskin, how wonderful!!! I understand that it needs a lot of care but it is a fabulous bag.
I have an everyday bag for work, going out in the day, errands, shopping, meetings etc...a Saint Laurent Jamie bag in the large size.
I do not own a Chanel flap bag yet, neither the Classic flap or the 2.55 reissue, this is why I will buy one soon as it will be my last possibility as the price is pretty high now. Knowing that Chanel will be increasing their prices over sky high soon and I cannot go over the 7000€ mark, this is the limit for me. I have a few Chanel SLGs but this will be my first, my HG.
Therefore, it is my last chance to buy one and then I will stop. That is why I will have to choose ‘THE ONE’. Like I said earlier here, the sizes of both are almost similar. I just need to know if both can transition from day to evening and are not too big for evenings...In either leather, lambskin or calfskin I will be careful or at least try. I take great care of my bags.
Your precious advice and opinions are greatly appreciated. It is always nice and amazing to ‘talk’ to people that share the same passion. I love reading your replies.

If you already have an everyday bag and you're looking for a bag to transition from day to evening... I would recommend the Chanel Classic Flap Bag.. I have the caviar one (wish I got lamb) and I can easily style it up or down. I've taken my classic flap from lunch with the girls to dinner with my husband (or formal events).
I don't reach for my reissue when I am going to dressy events due to the distressed leather. But choose the one that makes you happy and makes you jump for joy. Goodluck!
Gosh... I love, love, love the reissues. I have Chevron pattern. However, I love the classic as well. Check out some of the used reissues and how the distressed leather ages over time. I like the classic looking leather (if taken care of) it looks good over time.

I put the "" around one and only because we've all been there and been bit by the chanel bug. Once you buy one, typically you won't stop. I bought 4 chanel bags in my first year at the boutique. My SA and i are now good friends lol. Of course this was when chanel flaps were much less than it is now. I purchased my m/l lambskin classic flap in Paris for 3100 euros in 2013 and got VAT tax back as well. I started off saying the same thing as you. "Just one".
if I were you, I would get the m/l lambskin classic flap from the store new. Then, I would look for the reissue preloved. The price of reissue preloved is typically lower than the retail price whereas the price of m/l lambskin classic in brand new or excellent condition will be sometimes more than retail price.

You are all right, it is important to buy what we feel for. As for buying just one, I understand that it will be a very difficult thing to do. I know by buying one or the other, the CF or the 2.55, I would eventually, want the other next and will dream about it, start a new savings account for it and aspire to buy it one way or the other, despite the crazy price increase.
I mean the price increases are total madness, like running a race that will never, ever, end. I guess only you, yourself, can only be the one to say, hey, now my collection is complete, or what I have is enough.
Tbh for me, it will be complete with ‘just’ four lol , the M/L Classic Flap, the Jumbo Classic Flap, the 2.55 reissue in 225 (in black or white) and a 2.55 reissue in 226 in black. All gold hardware.

Hi all, sorry just wanted to ride on the thread of reissue 227.
Was told this is a rare piece in lambskin, but have never actually seen a lambskin version.
Can I get your advice on whether this is legit and whether its a good investment? The bag is quite large and am unsure if a lambskin version is a good idea. Am worried about corner scuffing. But this looks really beautiful!
