Hi, I recently bought a COACH soft borough bag. I'm in love with it BUT one of the handles is stiff.

After carrying the bag with the handles, if I go to put the back on my shoulder, one of the handles goes down smoothly, but the other gets stuck. It is like the slot is too tight for it, and I have to play with it for 30-40 seconds to get it to lay flat against the bag.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was the handle which was against my body, but it's the outer handle and looks a little stupid if it isn't laying flat (especially when it's at a 60 degree angle!).

Is there anything I can do to remedy this, to make the handle move smoothly, without damaging the bag?

Thank you in advance! :D

I don't know if this works for soft borough but here is what I did for mini borough:

Sadly I don't have D-rings. It's like the leather on one side is too tight :-(

I'm refusing to take the bag out until it's fixed, as I'll end up carrying the bag by the handles, then using the strap, and having to fiddle with the handles to get them to lay flat -- not chic.

Both sides of the bag look the same (the 'normal' side is in the first pic), but the 'tight' side leather clings onto the handle as I move it down (see the second and third pic)!

I posted this in the general section but sadly the only reply didn't help.

Both sides of the bag look the same (the 'normal' side is in the first pic), but the 'tight' side leather clings onto the handle as I move it down (see the second and third pic!) and it ends up stuck at a 90 degree agree.

I have to play with the leather that goes around the handles for it to lay flat, but this takes about 30 seconds and isn't exactly chic. I'm refusing to take the bag out until it's fixed, as I'll end up carrying the bag by the handles, then using the strap, and having to fiddle with the handles to get them to lay flat :(

I've seen this before. It is possible the leather was a tiny bit thicker on one side and that prevents the handle from moving freely. I don't know what you could do about it.

Oh no :-( If only the leather was on the inner side, then it could just rest on my hip until it went down
