^^Speaking of inflated prices on Bluefly I noticed something very odd. I ordered 3 things from the sale - the blue giftbox charm necklace, the elsa peretti open heart lariat, and the open heart earrings.
I could not compare the earrings with the site as they weren't on there (must be sold out online?)
The giftbox necklace said compare at $200 and was selling for $140 on Bluefly. (I checked Tiffany's site - it's backordered, but the charm is $150 and the chain is $50, so $200 would be correct.)
The lariat necklace was selling on Bluefly for $175 (and it said compare at $250). I checked the Tiffany's website, and it was retailing for $295. Then, after I checked out and refreshed that particular page on Bluefly, it said that the Bluefly price was $245 and that it retailed on Tiffany's for $350. It made me double check the price I paid!! How crazy, right? (It did only cost me $175, thank goodness). So I ended up getting a great deal on that one, but I found it so strange that the price changed after the fact.
Now I absolutely need to stop buying between this and Joma!!
Sorry I needed to edit - I just checked the site again and saw that there were 2 lariat necklaces on Bluefly. One specifies a pearl drop; the other does not. I am assuming the one I purchased is the one with a heart drop instead of the pearl (even though the pearl was pictured in the one I bought). Guess I"ll just have to wait and see what arrives. The funny thing is, both retail for $295 on Tiffany.com, even though Bluefly claims one retailed at $250 and the other retailed for $350). I'd rather the pearl but guess I shouldn't complain for that price. Still, they should get their description straight...
