Just wanted to let you girls know that I was speaking to my favourite SA today and she told me that the yellow diamonds are going up, substantialy, in price as of Monday. They have been selling like crazy at the Yorkdale location. They can't keep up with demand since they were introductory priced accordingly. So if you have already got a yellow diamond, consider your self lucky! You got a great deal.

OH NO! I've been speaking with Arifa there about bringing me one in to try - boooooo! :( Monday??? I can't get there by tomorrow I don't think!!! Waaaaaah!

Yup... I was talking to Roula. She says they haven't received anything thing new in the past little while because they are holding out until the price increase. They only had a necklace and three rings. She said the yellow diamonds have been doing amazing at the yorkdale store. Better than expected since it's in a mall. They used to have even the keys with the yellow diamonds, and they sold like hot cakes.

I thought it was widely known that the "good" prices were valid for a certain amount of time for marketing reasons. An increase was expected.

Do you have any idea HOW significant an increase? Like the usual 10% kind of thing or like MAJOR?

I think the price increase already happened in Europe. I asked in London two weeks ago about the increase and they said it had already happened.

Bleh, I was prepared for this. . .but I wouldn't expect that it would happen THIS soon!!! I imagined the increase would have occurred with the other increase they had this past week, so I pushed my bf into buying the ring ASAP. When I found out the yellow diamond collection would be unaffected, I felt kind of sheepish and bad that I made him think he was going to pay thousands more for the ring when my fears turned out to be totally unfounded! I then thought they would maybe keep the collection at the "introductory price" for at least a half year to a year. But I guess not.

Now I'm glad I got my ring when I did! And I don't feel so bad pressuring my bf anymore. This just makes us buying the matching pendant a bit of a struggle for us if the increase is MAJOR as the OP mentioned!

I talked to my SA when exchanging my ring, and she told me she didn't know of any price increase. She said that the most recent price increase was all there is for now. . .until the next time, of course. I also talked to the manager and she said she did not know of any price increase for the yellow diamonds either, though she did mention that Tiffany has price increases a few times a year!

I've been at the Bloor st. location talking to the sales lady about yellow diamond rings.
I did hear that they were having a price increase soon.

I find it very unfair that with the Canadian dollar doing so well compared to the US, Tiffanys Canada is still going to raise prices.
Even before this price increase, the Canadian prices sucked compared to the US.

I've been talking to NYC Tiffanys directly and my SA did not know about a price increase.
I'm getting 4 yellow diamond rings brought in to NY to choose from.
Prices are much better in the US and taxes are lower.
I suggest fellow Canadians look into this option as well.

Well if that's true I sure as heck aren't buying one here!

I called Yorkdale yesterday and they were MADDENINGLY vague. "We don't share that information"... Um, if you want a sale you will! grrrr.

Wise. Very wise.

The $$$ amount is way too significant to justify purchasing in CDN when the prices are so much better in the US. And besides, the customer service (as crazy as this may sound), is FAR better in the US than in Canada.

BF and I are looking at 2 styles...the sola (btw your ring is amazing!!!)...and the pear yellow with the single white diamond halo...
We're getting 2 of each brought in to NY to see which style I like..
Right now I love the sola more only because I've tried that one on in Toronto already....i can't wait to try on the pear...


If anyone is thinking about buying Tiffanys in Canada, call or email around some US stores. You will see a significant difference in the price which might be worth a trip and as Contessa mentioned, the customer service is excellent.
