I noticed that Tiffany still makes the Sparklers necklace in Praseolite but the ring and earrings are now in green quartz. I have the earrings and necklace and eventually wanted to get the ring but now am wondering if it will match, it looks a little greener in the picture. Does anyone know the reason for the switch? Is one stone more valuable than the other? The prices are the same. Thanks for any info.

I believe Blossy is correct. Here's the Wikipedia link ( I had to look it up to be sure as well ): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prasiolite

It's been my experience that if I'm trying to match stones and I'm buying at different times, to bring the set I want to match in with me when I'm buying if at all possible. I've actually run into a situation (not at Tiffany) where the stone was the same, but the colors were just off enough to make me not want to complete my set.

That's a good idea, thanks. Just waiting for the right "occasion" to "hint" for the ring. I don't usually like matchy matchy but I got the necklace, then fell in love with earring and I just have to have the ring. I think because the necklace and earrings are so subtle and the ring is the bling that really makes them stand out.

The emerald cut is GORGEOUS!! Good choice :D It'll make a great addition to your set. I think I must like matchy matchy in theory - I will buy matching sets, but not always wear them all together. Just earrings and the matching ring, or necklace and matching bracelet, etc. ;)
