ok, two questions

1. I saw a solitaire diamond necklace in Tiffany for 10,500,
1.04Ct
J
VS1

should I get the necklace from Tiffany, or should I just buy a diamond, I can buy the same diamond from blueNile for half the price. ( I guess it between should I pick the brand, or the diamond?) lol

2. what carat would you recommend for diamond necklace? this is my first solitaire necklace.

I'm in my early 20s, and I am planning to wear it everyday. I don't want something that's too much.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! :D:D

It's personal preference, I personally like it at around 0.5c and 0.75c. As for going for a Tiffany, go for it. The quality and service are great. I own many diamond pieces from there and I like the fact that any Tiffany on the planet can clean and inspect my diamond pieces for free.

thank you!! I loved the necklace from tiffany, just then I realize I can get a much better quality diamond from Blue Nile with the same price, I hesitated..... hm... lol

I know there is a huge divide between people who will tell you go for the Tiffany name vs. a "non branded" diamond. However, IMO, you can get just as beautiful a diamond for much less (as you've seen on Blue Nile).

I think a 1-carat necklace would be very pretty. You might want to look into insuring it as well.

if you can afford it why not buy it now when you're younger? I've been told by quite a few friends to do it now before you have a family and more expenses....so I am :graucho:

I think it will be stunning!
well said. You should buy it before getting married and have lots of financial priority other than your own interest

You might be able to go down in clarity, and that might help with the cost. You can ask a SA to look what is in inventory for the size, clarity you want. Transferring between their US stores is very easy and quick, a few days.

If it was me, I would go to an SI1 in a higher color in a 1 carat from anywhere you can get a good deal on the diamond. Its so easy to design your own solitaire necklace without paying extra. I would go with at least a G in color because it shows in a bigger diamond. Its a lot of fun to go to a jeweler and look at individual diamonds and then pick your own. Get lots of advice and then, pick your own diamond. Signed ,Lucy's 2cents advice!!!:smooch::love::loveeyes:
