Thank you! I suspected as much! Some of the prices seem way high to me, even factoring in inflation and scarcity. But I will try to find one at a price I am comfortable with, at leastI'm afraid nobody would sell close to the "original" price. Back then Tiffany's pieces were cheap. Prices increased times for Tiffany's (silver bracelets from $150 to $1100, gold from $4500 to $2100). Gold and silver price doubled. Locks are collectible too. So market price is *fair* now, nobody is going to sell for what it was unless it's a yard sale or something. Besides sellers may not have bought it cheaply back then but bought from re-sellers/consignment recently.
Maybe start with a Silver lock? they are in $300 range. Also worth trying negotiating buying without chain, chains are expensive too now..Thank you! I suspected as much!
