Have many silver pieced from tiffany s and i decided to stop buyibg silver !!
Now time for gold :)
I saw many cute things ,
Butterfly necklace
Diamond solitaire necklace
Lock pendant !!!
It happens that yesterday i saw the exact metro heart pendant that i wanted At a local jeweler
Of course cheaper !!! Quality of a tiffany diamond !!!

I reserved the item yesterday night on the phone but. Dont know y its bothering me cuz not a tiffany !!!
Would u have bought the metro pendant from tiffany or non tiffany ??

Metro tiff : 1200 usd .04ct (price in lebanon)
Metro non tiff : 460 usd .07ct with diamond certification
Same specs on both diamonds

Which necklace would you feel more happy, more satisfied?

In my experience, even if I know that I can get a bigger non-Tiffany items for the same amount (or perhaps even way less), I still chose to indulge myself in Tiffany items just because I know it'll make me much happier. I know that I won't be contented and will still long for the Tiffany piece that I really want. But then again, that's just me. After all, I have my mum's jewellery collection that i can use hahaha. :laugh:

With that said, just choose what you really want, never mind if it's smaller and more expensive. If it'll satisfy your craving, then it'll be cheaper at the end of the day. Because you won't tell yourself that after this purchase, I'll save up for that Tiffany piece that you really wanted. :)

If it were me i'd get the one from your local jeweler, but then thats bcos i'm not really into tiffany so i wont mind that it isnt. Tiffany's things are very nice but i cant see myself paying more for the brand if the quality is the same.

However, this is just me. If you really want the tiffany pendant you should choose that, otherwise you wont be happy with your purchase even if you got a good deal.

I am one of the people that thinks you can get better, bigger and cheaper diamonds elsewhere rather than Tiffany's, however they do some lovely gold pieces and after comparing prices to the average jeweller here in England I think Tiffany's prices for gold are not unreasonable. 9k gold is very common here and the few 18k pieces available are very expensive, at least on a par with Tiffany's. So the way I see it i may as well buy them from Tiffany's and have the pleasure of the whole buying experience from there. I own several gold pieces from there now including several pendants, a ring and a pair of earrings and am really happy with them.

As far as the metro pendant is concerned, I had a similar dilemna a few weeks ago. I really love the diamond horseshoe necklace from Tiffany's and considered buying it (at £735 here in the UK), but once I found out that it only contained something like .04 of diamonds I just couldn't bring myself to buy it - for that price. I know the non-Tiffany's one you saw did not have a very high diamond weight but it is still higher than the Tiffany's one and a third of the price! As long as you are happy with the workmanship and quality I would go for the one from the local jeweller if I were you. I just think $1200 is a ridiculous price for .04 ct of diamonds, Tiffany's or not! Just imo.

I got the metro from my local jeweler !! Couldnt resist and am in loveeeee with it !!
Am happy to have the design i wanted and at a very reasonnable price !!!
Yayyyyyyyyy cant wait to wear it !!! :):):)

I got it from my local jeweler and am so happyyyyy i love the metro design amazing !!! Diamond is 0.09 !!! Clarity vvs1 and color E a perfect shiny little necklace .... Am in loveee

I just saw your photos too, it looks so lovely on you and layered with your gorgeous key!! :D I completely agree about buying only special designs from Tiffany's - I had no doubts when it came to buying my gold keys, bean and even my DBTY as these are all designs that originated from Tiffany's and I feel Tiff's does them the best, but designs like the horseshoe and so on can be got elsewhere for less. Enjoy your beautiful necklace! :smile1:

Hi, I am also considering a dbty necklace though not Tiffany's. I went to a local jewelry shop and they gave me a quote for:

1. 0.51ct H,VS1 stone, with a platinum bezel and 16" chain - $1,850 + tax
2. 0.36ct G, SI1 stone, with platinum bezel and 16" chain - $1,450 + tax

As this will be my first big jewelry purchase, I am still an amateur (this is my first post although, I have browsed through many of these posts :). Do you feel these prices are reasonable? With these prices, would you rather buy one at Tiffany's for more or would you rather go with one of these choices?
