I’ve been trying to find some reviews or photos of the Tiffany Link Hardwear Necklace on other people before I potentially pull the trigger this year. I can’t find much info from others so was hoping to get a few reviews or opinions from people who own the necklace. How does it feel after a long day/is it prone to scratching/would you recommend it for an everyday piece etc anything would be helpful. I’m eyeing the rose gold micro link but any necklace (or bracelet!) review is much welcome! I don’t have a tiffany store close to me so haven’t tried on the necklace yet, but planning on soon. And please post some photos, would love to see how it sits or how it pairs/stacks with other necklaces!!

Hey there!
I had (and then resell😅) the graduate link necklace and the small link one in sterling silver.
About the graduate design:
-Fantastic piece you can integrate in almost everyday outfits if you learn to play with it.
-Definetly not a DBTY "small nd dainty goes with everyday necklace" but a fun piece.
-Easy to clean at home with the right tools
-It's a weird observation but i have this pet peeve about necklaces that MUST stay put, the graduate had the "right" weight for the job.
The Small was hard to keep clean (silver tarnishs easily on me) and too light for my taste.
For what is worth ,between the two, i would repurchase the graduate for sure!
About the Microlink line all i can report are my experiences with all 3 of the bracelets as a everyday wear and tear user.
Gorgeous everyday piece with "if you know you know" energy but ultimately sold the yellow and rose gold versions.
In my opinion not worth the investiment since as bracelets they are prone to scratches /bumps/weird shapes of the link.
That said as a necklace with possibly the right weight? Absolutely yes🥰
Hope it was helpful!

Thank you for this! I actually was also eyeing the microlink bracelets in stirling silver, but didn’t want to risk it with the tarnishing. Can I ask what made you sell the yellow and rose gold versions? I’ve never considered the graduate version but looks like I might have to 🤩

About the graduate...i've recently heard some talks about the Cartier Juc choker and how some owners would like to incorporate the item in their everyday oufits...the graduate is pretty much the same ,statement piece for sure but if you are a bold type it can be done!
It's up to you though as i said it is not exactly a DBTY floating diamond that goes with everything.
For the Microlink...that's an interesting question...mind you ,i'm still convinced it is a beautiful bracelet but simply not worth its price.
The links are not solid and i can say that for both the yellow and rose gold version.
(My yellow gold's one was 7.5 inches and weight only 10 and something grams if i recall correctly...)
Anyway as a everyday bracelet it is an item prone to scratches and bumps as you can verify in other older posts...i can sadly confirm the links will exibit at some point the "indentations" other users reported precedently.
Good news is Necklaces should not present this problem unless your neck has a very interesting life😆.
Sterling tarnishs in a week of constant use on me( i know every person is different and it really depends on your sweat and ph levels) with a good polish ,i mean creams ad towels only,it will return good as new.
That said i still love my cuffs (no,not the bones) and the easy cleaning is a factor i put in line when I make a purchase.
If you have any other question about the hardwear line i'd be happy to be help you , at some point or an other i had almost every item of the line...some i sold some i stay faithfull to but i can tell you all the pros and cons👌

So I don't own the necklace, but can concur with @blondyh about the "indentations"...my silver microlink bracelet wore thin on the links to the point of not being able to wear it anymore after 3 1/2 years. However, I didn't find scratches too big a deal, as the design of the links means that really only the little "balls" at the end of the links touch anything. Though hollow, the gold versions would definitely wear longer than the silver. And as long as you don't wear it 24/7 - take it off for sleeping, showering, working out, etc - it should be a lifelong piece! I think the microlink does make for a stunning everyday necklace.

However, the mark-up on the Hardwear collection is just over-the-top, imho, I can't stomach it - a generic solid 18K box or paperclip link necklace is 1/4 the price, or a beautiful David Yurman Madison link necklace is less than 1/2.

But if you love it and can afford it, and plan to take care of it, go for it! There are lots of pictures and people raving about the necklace on the general Hardwear thread.

I have the rose gold micro link necklace, so will try to post some pics today of it with my necklaces that I layer it with! I tend to layer it with my pink sapphire lock necklace.

I looove the JUC necklace, it’s definitely a wishlist piece! Between the two, I think the tiffany just slides by as my favourite. I didn’t know that the links were not solid though 😭 For that price point I definitely thought they would be and that’s kind of put me off now. Argh. Also didn’t know about the indentations with the bracelets. I’ll have a sit with this new info, thanks for everything 😊

I absolutely agree with you on the pricing. I’ve had to save up for nearly a decade for this and I wasn’t aware David Yurman pieces were so much more affordable. I also didn’t know the necklaces were hollow, which has soured my taste a little 😧 I’m based in Australia, so DY is pretty much nonexistent here and never bothered to check with the prices but damn! The difference is crazy. I’m actually now eyeing the rose gold link necklace, it’s definitely a more dainty version of tiffany’s link necklace.

Some of David Yurman’s stuff is hollow too. Not sure specifically about the Madison though. I’m not 100% sure about Tiffany hardware either. Chain bracelets are inherently lighter than bangles. I’d directly ask the SA and see what they say. They are charging big money for the larger hardware pieces so that would be something if they’re hollow.

I’ve been comparing both the Madison and hardware (micro) line lately. I like the hardware line a bit better. It’s less “paperclip”.

I wouldn’t look to DY as the solution with taking a careful look at the specific piece. His (the company’s) quality has gone downhill the last couple years as well. Gold is just really expensive now and the mark up for the name is more significant. I saw my Tiffany’s SA in the mall yesterday and I felt terrible but I just can’t justify it anymore.

Ah thats a shame, but very true with the gold prices skyrocketing. Might be a decision I have to make after I’ve tried on the pieces and just bite the bullet with. Good to know about DY though 🙁

I do love the hardwear line a little bit more too, especially the micro. I like that it’s a bit more edgy and chunky but not too crazy. Ahh there’s alot to consider now, I’ll definitely ask the SA when I try it on and do abit more research in the meantime

Yes, for sure DY is hollow too. And hollow is not *necessarily* a bad thing - it does make the piece lighter to wear, and as long as you take care with wear (ie. take it off at night/working out/showering, anytime there will be potential for a lot of tugging/movement on the links), even the hollow gold will last a LONG time. Think of gold wedding bands that are only 1-2 mm thick and are worn for decades. It was just my silver version that wore indents on the most-rubbed parts because silver is so much softer. Thus, when I got a new link bracelet to wear 24/7 I chose solid unbranded gold.

But if you LOVE the look of the Hardwear necklace and will take care of it and can afford it - definitely go for it! It is a stunning, forever piece!

Hi! I took some pics today of my micro hardwear necklace with my small pink sapphire lock and with my paper flowers firefly pendant. For several months, I wore the lock/micro combo, and now I’ve been switching out the lock for other necklaces. I really love the layered looks that you can style with the micro hardwear necklace!
