Tiffany diamond engagement ring 1.10 d vs2 with med blu fluoro worried about hazy/oily diamond .... HELP... Ladies today I thought my diamond ring looked milky when I took a pic of it with my phone, I have no idea wat a milky diamond looks like but when I got my ring I got caught up in having a d coloured and embraced the little discount now I worry it's milky :s please help !!! It is from Tiffany and is the Tiffany setting

My fiancé and I bought a Tiffany engagement ring stats 1.10 d colour vs2 engagement ring with medium blue fluoro at the time I didn't see a negative with the d with fluoro now I am worried my diamond could be milky/ hazy, I photographed my ring today and it looked almost white instead of icy crystal? Am I being paranoid trying to upload pic here!

D VS2 med fluoresce, should NOT look milky. The fluoresce does not make the diamond look milky, it makes it look blue. when you say milky-I'm thinking dirty-could it be dirty on the outside? Probably not, that would be obvious. Cuz the only time diamonds have looked milky if it's a good quality is if it's pretty dirty from oils/soaps and what not.

If not, VS2 rings will not look dirty on the inside, normally.

Picture should help.

If the flour were affecting the diamond it would have an oily look. It wouldn't look white, it would have a greasy hue to it. It would appear murky or oily in the sunlight. As if you rubbed a bunch of greasy lotion on it. It wouldn't emit fire, just a dull greasy look.

Here is an example of an E colored diamond with a strong blue flour that created an oily look. See how the diamond is grey and almost transparent? And it just looks greasy and dull with no fire? This is what yours would look like if the flour were affecting the color.

Those photos are too low quality to tell. But a Medium Blue stone should not have a milky or oily haze if it's properly graded. Who graded it? Tiffany or GIA or AGS? If it was strong or very strong blue flor it would have a possibility but it's not common.

Do you have a digital camera with a macro setting? If so please take a few photos (preferably in natural light without a flash).

If you don't love the stone, go back to Tiffany and find another.

They don't typically develop it over time, it either has it to start with or it doesnt. But since Tiffany graded it in house, I am inclined to think it's probably strong blue if you're thinking it's got a "haze".

Did you only just now notice this or is it bec of those photos you took? Because those pics are not great, and it doesn't look so much milky or oily in them, just not detailed and low resolution.
