I know that there have been alot of posts on this in terms of quality, replicas, etc., but I wanted to get your opinion on the most appropriate size. I will be getting the Tiffany version in platinum. I'd like something visible, that I can wear casually when going out with friends, but also for every day in a business setting.

I do not work in a "glamour" field- I work with alot of scientific folks and everything is understated. As an example, I typically do not wear my 1.9 carat solitaire to work- only a simple shared prong band.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have a 14 point stone, but the size I would love to have would be around 30 points. Since the design is meant to be more delicate, I feel that going for a large stone does not suit the design.

I just bought the yg dbty .05 pendant. It's lovely, but the diamond is so small. I'm thinking of paying the extra $150 for the .08 size, but only want to do it if it's noticeably bigger. Should I go for the .08, or is it not worth paying the extra money?

I've written about this before -- when Tiffany first came out with the DBtY necklace, it only came in 4 sizes. Teeny, tiny, small and a bit larger. i still have the original advertisement from them and also the magazine ad from the '70s.

The whole idea was to have a tiny flash on an almost invisible chain.

Then, people started getting closer to a carat and it changed the whole look. I like the original idea better. So I would say, keep it small.

I have a .27 in plat - love it and also a .40 in yg and equally love that one. They are both perfect sizes. I wear my diamond studs daily though which are on the larger size and like to keep whatever I'm wearing on my neck minimal.
