Has anyone tried to call Tiffany's 800 customer service number during this whole quarantine situation?

I just tried to call (question about getting repair/service) and was on hold for over an hour. At that point I received an automated message that said something like "we are experiencing problems, try again later." and I got hung up on.

I know NYC is still "closed" - is that where their customer service call center is located? And therefore, it is unavailable at this time? -- If so, they really need to update their website to let people know.

I "have" a SA and unfortunately she didn't know the answer. She's checking with her management but that was as of yesterday morning and I am horribly impatient!

Question is: since NYC is "reopening" on Monday, when will they start to accept items for repairs, etc.?

Side note: rereading my post I realize it probably comes off as horribly dramatic - not my intent

Although I don’t know the answer, my guess would it will be a while. They are probably back-logged on repairs. They do repairs at the flagship store and a few other locations. I assume that the repairs department has been closed for a bit.

Hi! You can email them. I have a ring I need resized and emailed them last night if they were open and if I could mail it in. They already replied today and sent me a link with a repair form to complete.

I have have used this process before. To me, it is way faster than going upstairs to the repair center, waiting to be called, just to fill out the same form. Then you have to go back and pick it up vs. them mailing it to you.

I do not live in NYC but go there a lot for work, and even then, mailing to me is so much easier.

Plus... you get a nice box, pouch, and all the goodies when they mail it back. When you pickup, you get your piece back and that’s it. A nice little plus. [emoji2]

Not to excuse Tiffany, but have you called anyone else’s customer service recently? I have, four or five times, and each one has been a horror show of hold times, disconnections, and general not-knowing-what’s-going-on, even companies that usually have impeccable service.
I agree! Getting through to other companies has been a nightmare. I only get through at a reasonable time if I call when they first open.

Thanks for the tip! What postal service do you use? And do you insure your package for the full cost? I’m a little hesitant to do this with an item of high value.

Yes, these are crazy times! Like I said above, I’m sure my post came off as super dramatic (and total first world problems). That was not my intent.

Hi! I use USPS Registered Mail. They accept jewelry up to $50,000.00. Every time the package “moves” and changes hands, it is signed off. It is stored in a safe at night. I do this often (not just with Tiffany but other brands) and never had a piece lost. I insure for the full amount. It’s so hassle free. NYC repair floor is such a pain to me, and I am sure it’s packed now.

As FYI, since your piece is high value, if you decide to drop it off but think you want it mailed back to you, Tiffany will not mail anything over $100K to a residential location, so you have to get it in person. Since this is still COVID-19, the policy may have changed, but ask them in your email and they will advise you in case your piece hits the “mail” price limit.

Good luck.

Oh... forgot... for Registered Mail, you cannot use regular clear packing tape. The post office has tape to seal it, and they will stamp red “Registered Mail” seals all over the edges so they know at anytime if the package is compromised.

It’s really super safe. The post office does not want to lose your package!

I also attached here the Tiffany form as FYI.

Hope this helps!

So helpful - thank you so much!
last question: is the insurance an arm and leg??

You need a better SA! Mine always puts the piece in a bag and fights me on wanting to put it in a box with ribbon so I can feel like I have received a present. He’s a doll but I don’t need all that stuff! Lol

This is not the SA. My SA dolls it up too with all the bells and whistles. This is a pickup from the repairs department floor upstairs.
