Hi,
This is the first time here on the Jewelry section. Please forgive me if I did something wrong in this thread.

I bought a Platinum Tiffany Bracelet by Elsa Peretti off Ebay. Seller said it was a gift to her, I do have a receipt from December 2014.

But upon comparing the bracelet image on Tiffany`s site and mine it raised a few frowns.

-The first image is from Tiffany and shows a "tag" with Elsa`s name in a sort of signature.

Mine has just in capital letters ©PERETTI.

-Secondly the "tag" on mine is oval whilst Tiffany`s image shows a more "bone" like "tag".

And the links holding the "tag" are not that round and smooth see mine third image.

The back reads T&Co PT 950. I have seen one bracelet selling for 1.7k with T&CO PT950, that tag really looks like a bone.

Now I have searched some Ebay listings and Elsa`s bracelet seem to have different tags(all secondhand bracelets selling for 1k+) There is one in 18k gold(selling for around 500USD) which is the same model as my platinum which looks exactly the same!

Am I overeacting that I bought a fake?

Regards& Hugs for helping me out!
Sofia

I only own Peretti silver stacking rings, all purchased from the 5th Ave store, but they all have that block print lettering inside each of them that is identical to what's on your bracelet tag, not a signature at all.

Hope more members chime in so you can get some good answers!

The tag on my 9 mm bean necklace is tagged exactly like yours - except one side says spain. It was purchased in 2012 at the Tiffany's on the Plaza in KC . Perhaps it was a slight redesign and the bone tags are older pieces?

I have a sterling silver EP piece with a turquoise bead on it, and from what I remember, mine has the oval tag with Peretti on it. I think yours looks pretty authentic :)

I have collected EP for 40 years. There have been small changes along the way from the 70's to today in some of the items. I don't see any problem with the tag on your bracelet but since the links holding it don't seem really smooth, I'd take it to a TCO store and have it checked. It may just have been repaired at another jewelry store in the past. In any event, I would think it's worth it to get the peace of mind knowing it's all correct. I'd take it in for cleaning and asked to have the two links checked to make sure they are secure and see if they say anything. I think you're probably ok but EP counterfeits are common, so I'd get it checked.

Thank you diane278,
for your honest reply. After some images on google and your replies Iam sure it`s a authentic piece.

I live in a small city on the spanish costa, that`s why I have to buy online for luxurious things. There is no Tiffany nearby:nogood: So I cannot visit them.

The links are a bit out(it`s a fragile piece of bracelet), still if it is authentic I can live with some imperfections. Maybe I will give to my mom.

Regards,
Sofia

It looks like those links are really fragile:
This is a zoom from an ebay item, same bracelet, only more diamonds. Everything looks similair, even the right "bigger" link looks like mine: not really round and smooth.

Sophia,
If I were you, I'd wear and enjoy the bracelet. I don't think you have anything to worry about. My suggestion to take it to a store was to eliminate any doubts you might have. I think that most fakes pieces are made of silver as it is a lot less expensive. I would be surprised to see pieces made of higher priced metals that aren't real, as the cost of producing them in more precious metals would be prohibitive.

I own a few DBTY pieces and one of them is a platinum bracelet. Yours look exactly like mine. Can you post a pic of your entire bracelet?

These are the best shots I could get:p. In the sun it was too shiny:graucho:
Diane thanks for for your help. Everybody thank you.
Now looking for my mom's upcoming 60th Birthday....all it takes is $$$

All the Best,
Sofia
