Hello, I'm very new to the forum community! I've only looked at reviews in the past, I'm making my account for the first time to ask this question:

Does Tiffany provide any authentification service ?

Context: I'm looking at a Tiffany beautiful necklace from a reseller respected website. I've never purchased Tiffany anywhere except from the boutique directly. I have a couple of pieces from the victoria and paloma picasso lines (still completely in love with them).
I went to see the necklace and try it at the reseller showroom today, it seems very legit. I trust the reseller company as they are a known and trusted brand where i'm based.
However, they only provide their own authentification card for the gold and diamond quality, reviewed and stamped by their jewelery expert.

I was wondering if I would go to my Tiffany boutique, would they be able to trace back the necklace in their system with maybe the necklace number ID and confirm it's from the brand?
has it ever happen to any of you?

The necklace comes only with the reseller authentification card. There's no Tiffany's packaging, nor box or pouch (I so love that Tiffany blue box so I wished it was available as well)... Hence my questions :)

Thank you very much for any help !

If it’s a unique SKU, then it’s easy to verify the item since it’s one of one.

I think there is also an archivist service, primarily for authenticating old items. But I remember that being a very expensive service.

I just called the showroom to check in detail and the necklace doesn't seem to have a number ID or unique SKU. They still provide their own authentification card by their expert jeweler, and after-sale services.
I also called Tiffany and they were pretty clear, no authentification service is possible.

Guess i just have to trust the showroom now with this pre-loved necklace! (or not ;) )

It's just that with all the prices increases, it's starting to become a lot for a simple design and a solo diamond necklace. I don't mind putting even more money in designs like the victoria and paloma picasso line but i'm trying to make the best choice for what i actually want in terms of diamond carat. I do love how it sits on my neck and Tiffany's yellow gold chain, which is not too shiny.

Curious about the archivist service though, the necklace is listed to have been bought in the 2010's, not sure if it would fit the criterias.

Thank you for the advice anyway :)
